Sorry for being so late. I long back got a denim jacket made by tailors at this place.

1. They can copy anything you show them. Be it a "live" garment, or a picture in a magazine.
2. They have quite a good variety of faded denims. Rates vary as per the thickness, but not the fade.
3. Crappy rivets.
4. Ill colored threading.
5. Bad finishing.

But my experience is like 7-8 years ago...! So I would suggest this, go to their place and see some samples the have fabricated. Honestly the tailors are good, but finishing at that time was not quite to the standards. I was happy cause I wanted a short (hip length) denim jacket to ape the retro '80s rock stars. When I was different, and times were different...! :)

Sure, go and check out their samples. One never knows where gold exists.
Thanks for ur feedback !! Will keep the stated points in mind. :)

Arvind Mills has started this new venture of opening stores which allow you to get custom denims, suits, etc. Arvind Mills also supplies fabric to Levis in India and to a lot of other brands if I am not wrong. You can try checking their stores.

Arvind Limited

I don't think any of their stores exist nearby my area. :(

I guess even the OP would agree that perhaps the only one who has contributed to this thread, if even slightly is me.
Yeah .. ur comments surely proved beneficial ! :|

Cannot think of ordering of Jeans without trying. What may not fit well on one may fit perfectly on other.
Pepe & Levis are not the same that used to be. Some Levis are stiff as wood & some Pepe like pajamas.

For me, CK & Guess fit pretty well. Try buying them whilst on Sale, a cool 50% off makes them pretty affordable & at par with Levis, crap!

Skinny Jeans must be the most uncomfy Garment ever made!

Btw, Wrangler & Lee Jeans have good fit & finish.

Yes if one is able ot narrow down on a particular product, then its fine to order online. Otherwise its like throwing stones into a well!
Btw, 517 is what fit? Regular or Straight?

I bought Levis 501 Red Tab, 504(slim/skinny), both didn't fit well. On the other hand 531 felt comfy but cloth material used on insides of pockets was clown colored. Thought it would not show on the outside but due to some design/manufacturing flaw or deliberately, its visible.

About Tommy, I can tell you its tough finding a decent pair. I can speak for myself, I want simple denim jeans without frills, fades, torn, etc. but our friend Tommy ships only the goddy looking ones to India. Call it dumping ground or a waste market for tommy. Similar with FCUK, CK in India.

+1 for L517. It's boot-cut, but the bottoms are not very broad.

L517 is like slightly boot cut.. :D

its tight fight.. but not skinny !

and i never by tommy from india for the reason, i ask my friends or relatives to pick me few when they come ! and its always guess work with tommy! if it doesnt work i try selling it to friends :D

I have a problem with the Jeans they sell these days. I work out at the gym and I usually train for strength, that includes squats as they're the best exercise regardless of what you're aiming for. So my thighs are very well built and my waist is pretty much under control, you could say I could model if not for my short stature(170cm). The problem I have is I don't find any Jeans that fits me well, the ones that are perfect for my waist are too tight for my thighs and the ones that are perfect for my thighs are too big for my waist. Currently I am wearing Pepe, their cloth stretches a bit and that helps it around my thighs, but still I am not completely satisfied with it. I never did give any thought to this before I saw this thread, so is there any brand out there which I should try?

^^ have u ever thought of wearing Track pants to gym :O?

why would you want to expose your costly jeans to the toruture at gym?

^ When did he ever say that he was wearing those to the gym! The gym was an unnecessary reference, but to drive the point that his body is slightly different to the average physique

I do wear tracks for gym sometimes, though I prefer shorts most of the times.

Anyway, you've lost the point in trying to make a funny post, some people try too hard.

oops. I read it wrong then..
I assumed you wore it to gym after your first comment of gym thats all! My bad :(
And wen u say pepe material stretches a bit, i guess yu are referring to lycra?
I suggest u try wrangler and lee as they both have lots of jeans of lycra!
And i guess baggy jeans which is kinda IN nowadays would be fine?
And more than brands , u will have to try out different fits!
Try going to a place like pantaloons or something where they have loads of different companies and fits! Use a day and try watever u can get! By the end of the day, u will get something u like!! :)

I dont know why u guys are willing to spend so much money on jeans. Even I was foolish few years ago spending money on Brands blah..blah and all.

Once I went to Bommanahalli, Bangalore. There I saw factories like Jockey, Arrow, Lee, Pepe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen....These may not be the best and costliest brands but there may many other international brands there also.

Few people were selling stuff from these shops for as low as 200 bucks. There are small scale local made jeans kind of industries there and they also use similar material.

People dont get fooled by this brand funda...Wear what u like and use money wisely. Why do you want to give ur money to the already rich and prospering foreign economy.

Quality?? I agree the quality is different but it is not exactly 10 or 20 times better.
