Customs Duty on Mobile Phones

A lot of people are confused about this, including me, so I made this thread.

How much is the customs duty on mobile phones in India? I've been reading figures ranging from 2-4% officially, but I'm also reading horror stories of 10-30% duties being charged!

So people who have ordered and received phones from abroad; how much duty did you have to pay?
 
Its 2.06% of the Value of the phone.
The value can be derived based on the invoice available*

* If the invoice value is undervalued as per the officer, he can value the item according to his estimate and can arrive at the custom charges.
 
So that's the maximum possible amount that can be charged? Even if he values my 20k phone at 30k it'll be reasonable.
Don't know where the 10-30% duty on phones people come from.
 
Also i think this 2.x is for new unused phones only. Used phones come under a different bracket which might be 10-30 percent depending on the mood of the customs officer.
