How come we are not discussing one of the absurdest scams that they were trying to pull

hiring a computer for Rs.90,000? forging email letters , convincing half finished stadiums as done , its going to be such a shame for us :(

wonder whose brilliant idea was that we should host one of these games

Mani Shankar Iyer had this brilliant quote.. about how hosting something like this is only gonna bring in corruption issues.

And why, in the name of that same God and Mammon, the Commonwealth Games for the most prosperous part of the most prosperous city in India? the posh heart of New Delhi?

And they don't have money to Give to MCD employees.

Treadmill`s rent for 15 days is Rs.9,00,000

approx rent for AC for 30 days is Rs.3,00,000

According to Suresh kalmidi,chairman CWG 2010,he told the AC they are hiring are coming from Germany and are will have high cooling...

I wish If I can manage to see an event of CWG 2010...I would definately like to see the cooling of An AC whose rent is about 4 times the cost of a normal AC...

And yes definately that are of "supreme quality" whose rent is abt 5 times the cost of a GOOD treadmill.

In school times I read,Britishers took everthing....I guess they were much better than today's politician.

Atleast development was still there.
 
hight of SCAM, Rs.6000/- rent for EACH Umbrella for 45 days:ashamed: :(

I bought 1 Good quality umbrella for Rs.110/- each & Sun Brand cost was Rs.245/- each
 
CWG India 2010 will be in the news for all the wrong reasons. I sincerely hope that, in spite of all these scams, the games go on well and as per plan without bringing any further shame upon us. Right now, that looks a distant dream though, and it will have very bad repercussions.
 
one word to describe the games, FAIL.

In a way, good that we'll screw up. Then at least we won't harbour ambitions of hosting the olympics or any other damn event (barring cricket) for the next century. That should be enough time to sort out the corruption and bureaucracy.

It's funny, you guys are actually pissed off this came out and think it makes us all look bad.

I dont feel paying this years income Tax knowing where the money is ultimately going to end up.

Its so unfair we have to sloth all over life for few buck while people with power whom we elected make merry in tons.THIS IS AKIN TO SLAVERY.Isnt there anything we can do..or somewhere down its our fault that we keep repeatedly electing these people.

IT THINK WE ARE NOTHING BUT SLAVE TO THESE PEOPLE.
 
Just pray that the stadium roof doesn't fall during any event. Our country's already dismal image is now in tatters.

Even China is corrupted as hell. But when it came to host Olympics they showed that they are the best.

Why can't our ppl leave corruption aside at least for our own nation' pride?
 
Delhi is a mess. If you go past the JN stadium, it still looks incomplete. Not sure how the heck they will finish it.
 
huge blot to our country's name , kalmadi for everything you have done , rest of the government for hiding under a rock and not seeing where it was going , everyone is to blame and what about those aussies in charge of the CWG , why aussies ??? shambles
 
Honestly, I am used to all this. Every week we read a new scam which scales into thousands of crores. A.Raja is rolling, ISRO with the spectrum, the CWG numbers seem digestible too. India.
 
Come to think of it we shouldn't be surprised, when we can't even keep cricket out of corruption more than half the time (lalit modi etc). After CWG and World Cup India really should not get to host anything for decades because we'll just take it and taint its history with corruption. We've got a lot of issues to deal with internally.

Probably nobody here wants to talk about it since it's so heartbreaking to even think about it. Delhi is in shambles ... looks like a war-zone out here.

I see games venues (from outside) mushrooming in a month, and I hope they don't just crumble to dust when actually put to use, just as fast as they arose out of nowhere (anyone remember Kotla cricket ground, when a newly constructed spectators' area just fell apart?).

Even if the games venues come up on time, would they be of use...with all those snaps of leaking roofs we see in newspapers.

Roads are hardly fit to walk, let alone drive. While the traffic is already bursting at the seams Delhi traffic police has dedicated a lane for games officials. In a newspaper piece, Delhi traffic police actually advised people to stay at home when the games are on.

The Delhi High Court has decided to suspend routine work for the duration of the games (what's a red beacon on honorable judges' Corolla going to achieve when the roads would be choked anyways).

And the police are busy closing the shops that cater to day-to-day needs (like even vegetable vendors), but are unfortunately close to games venues (security reasons).

Preparations for stay and food for the arrivals are nowhere in sight.

Private contractors are simply walking off, fed up of the bureaucracy.

Its going to be a big shame for the country not just Delhi :'( I still hope for a miracle though.

PS: Probably a good training to us Delhites for a nuclear war!
 
The merchandising firm has pulled out, cause the equipment for sales is not ready. Also most sponsors are getting cold feet. Also at the CP area the excavations are being filled, later to be dug up again.
 
To top it all off , Kalmadi is an ex-IAF pilot and an NDA Pass-out , Where people are taught to live a life of pride and honor - This guy has certainly defied all limits , and yet he still has the courage (i think of it as shameful) to go and smile in front of media when half of Delhi is having potholes / smoke and what not ..no wonder some of the athletes have pulled out due to the "pollution" issue :( simply embarrassing i'd say :(
