I have a WD 1TB internal sata Hdd but its physically damaged and not even BIOS detect it. Though damage is not visible from outside. I am going to try sending it for RMA. But before that, i would like to know how can I recover data from it ? I live at Pune. Is there any WD authorised Service Center or Data Recovery shop at Pune ? I don't care if the company rejects it but I need some data from it. And if I get data from unauthorised recovery center, I will loose chances of getting it replaced under warranty.

Please suggest me what to do.... I am confused.:ashamed:

What do you mean by physically damage but not visible from outside?
AFAIK HDD with physical damage are not eligible for warranty.

I think he means that he has dropped the HDD and only he knows that he has dropped it since there are no signs of breakage on the outside.

Exactly !

Only I know I dropped it. I think some component may have damaged. Like connector or something.. (Im bad at electronics) Its just my guess. But Im not willing to send it to WD, for the reasons, I know they will deny it after analysis and their pathetic service.

May be I could get it repaired from some third party shop.
