hmm.. i wanted to take the BSNL DataOne 900 Plus plan...but read in the notes that MCU charges per Pulse @ Rs. 1/- shall be applicable.... what the hell does this mean.. can anyone pelase explain ...
the guy with whom i spoke to said that after every 3 minuts of internet usage 1 rs. will be charged...
WTF.. how can they call it unlimited then... every hour ill be spending additional 20 rs kya??/
can anyone please confirm, if this is actually the case?????
coz where i am .. i dont have any option other than BSNL or my mobile phones GPRS

^^Naa they don't. All you need to pay is 900+tax. The phone rental is waived as well.

dataone 900 regular = your existing rental plan for your landine + unlimited 256K net

dataone 900 plus = free rental for landline , but at 1 rupee /pulse @ 1 minute pulse rate, unlimited 256 net

if you dont already have a bsnl landline , this will let you not pay any rental charge. all other plans need you to pay rental for a landline.On the other hand , if you have a landline and are happy with its rental plan, go for the regular 900 plan

i dont have a BSNL landline rt now ... so after i take the landline and take the the DataOne unlimited 900 Plus.. i wont have to pay the rental for the phone rt ?... and suppose if i dont use my phone at all for any voice calls other than use the internet then i shall pay only 900+tax correct? no hidden charges of any sort??

UL = Unlimited = Unlimited 24hrs = Totally Unlimited = Unlimited Downloads = Unlimited Uploads = Unlimited packets u can send and recieve through that cable thingi and they wont charge anything other that 900 + service tax

UL plan then phone charges are as per your old plan.

UL Plus then zero rental plus 1Rs/1 min pulse

Also how reliable is BSNL?

BSNL as a company is very reliable after all its a PSU.

About downtime : I had little downtime till now. < 3 hrs in 6 months

well i live in a sorta village.. i get lots of downtime .. support is pathetic (govt employees )... as long as you get net, its great, the moment it rains .. boom!

^^ If in tvm then why don't you check out asianet ?? Their's is suppossed to be better service than bsnl.

asianet? :lol: :rofl: I've got one of their 256K limited (325) MB plan... it hardly gives 27KBps d/l... i keep it around to play UT2k4 with ma friends who have only ADL... even then, pings are horrible( 200+). BSNL, when its up and running gives me consistent 30KBps and gives pings of <30 in ut2k4. I used to have asianet nightbird(64k) about one year ago, but got BSNL because i was hardly getting 5k ( let alone 8K ) download speeds

plus all the problems of rain + cables affect asianet too

either way, me switching to bsnl unltd next year :hap2: ... paid this years already in bulk :ashamed:
