I was looking around in SP Road at the different laptop options I can buy before finally zeroing in on a Dell.

But I saw this offer I couldn't believe (which my dad is considering for personal excel/accounts/powerpoint/word/email/office/bank/movies kind of use):

eMachines Laptop

15.6" Screen (forgot resolution)

Intel Pentium T4300 Processor @ 2.1GHz

1GB DDR2 RAM

I think the price is @ its best considering its for ur dad & for some mild use its worth the penny u pay :D

that seems to be a very nice deal ...what about the warranty?
 
I wud say not to go for it......The brand is not well known(Even I heard it for 1st time).

What about post sale services?? Warranty??

Better pay sum bucks more and get a lappy from well known brand.

Well......see what other member suggests. But I think it's not better to compromise on lappy's.
 
e-machines is owned by acer and is an extablished brand in the US.

gateway is also an acer brand.
 
Could someone say whether Samsung N140( OS & ext writer exclusive) @ 14.3k iworth it ??

BTW , I got this price from satyam Computers , S.P road

N140 is a good all-round netbook. I suppose it comes with Windows XP or 7 OS (depending on the model), and no modl comes without OS. Without OS you get N138 (which is same as N140 in terms of hardware). I did not understand "OS & ext writer exclusive" - Are you getting external DVD-Writer also?

N140 is a good all-round netbook. I suppose it comes with Windows XP or 7 OS (depending on the model), and no modl comes without OS. Without OS you get N138 (which is same as N140 in terms of hardware). I did not understand "OS & ext writer exclusive" - Are you getting external DVD-Writer also?
 
Just saw another AD in newspaper. Same laptop with 160GB HDD but 2.2GHz T4400 CPU available for 20K + Taxes + Extra Rs. 1350 for carry bag and with it you get Reliance USB Wireless Modem free.

i had a datamini pc--was my first pc---way back in 1995.was a good pc after i replaced almost everything inside it except the cpu!

i never knew they were still around!
 
you must have read a ad which goes like ` datamini netbook' price rs 15000' free gifts rs 6600. effective price rs.8400.

Who cares about gifts if they are stuff you never really wanna use and at the same time have pathetic resale values ?
