ask him to send the item first and pay him later....
chat him with webcam...
ask him if any TE member personally know him and can vouch for him
if you can refrain using TE market or any other online sale purchase site do it...
Ask any trusted TE member if he can come in between You and the seller to complete the deal...there are many members on the site who will do it for both seller and buyer a favour without asking anything from you for sake of community's goodwill...(this buffer will simply filter out the junk floating around the forum)
