Game Description:
Charming. Intelligent. Enigmatic. These are just a few words that nobody ever uses when describing DeathSpank. He doesn't shoot first and ask questions later. He doesn't even realize there are questions.

Described by top scientists as Monkey Island meets Diablo, DeathSpank's gameplay is divided between uncovering the epic story via conversations, solving complex puzzles, equipping your character to maximize his dispensing of justice, not to mention his charming good looks, plus battling just about anything that moves. As DeathSpank vanquishes evil and heroes the downtrodden, he will collect loot, level up, collect loot, acquire new abilities and of course, collect loot.

DeathSpank features witty dialog, improbable scenarios, unexpected villains, and a robust collecting system for weapons, armor, items, and abilities. The action is easily accessible for short bursts of unsupervised fun, but the story is revealed over 15+ hours of gameplay. In addition, you can choose to search out rare items and tackle DeathSpank’s many side quests.
Massive seamless world with no load screens!
Hundreds of pieces of Armor!
Hundreds of weapons!
A real story...not a crappy video game story!
Mind numbing - yet completely fair - adventure game puzzles!
A mysterious thing called The Artifact!
A beautifully hand crafted Quest Log to keep track of Important and Unimportant things to do!
Stuff that blows up!
Stuff that doesn't blow up!
The most interesting and eccentric cast you've ever seen!

I haven't played Torchlight, so not sure if it's similar to it. I'm pretty sure it does have online co-op. Need to confirm though.

Wow this is a great looking game :)

I don't mean to Hijack this thread but,

are there other games in this Genre(Fantasy\Comedy|Action)?

Completed DeathSpank on Vanquisher difficulty. The best indie i ever played. Got 100% completion in two days. :D 10/10 from me. Now to move on to DS Thongs of Virtue.

its ok, good humour, though repetitive tasks that u have to do. but i guess its not super long, about 8 hours or so.

Quick question relating to the co-op mode - is it offline mode? Similar to Lara croft & the guardian of light/Shank? If that's the case I can ask my roomie to join me who's desperately waiting to join me for a co-op title. :P

And is the storyline in co-op same as that of the single player campaign? Wouldn't want to play the single player if that's the case.

Its a local co-op game. Just plug a controller and get set go! The story won't be affected, since your friend just joins you in your single player campaign. Similar to Laracroft you can say.

Great I can skip the single player campaign then. Asking this specifically since Shank was different since it had the epilogue as the co-op mode. Thanks anyway.

Will take this up as soon as I am done with Mini Ninjas.

There is no option for co-op. Your friend just "sspoofs" up magically near deathspank when you connect the second controller. And has the second player has no direct relation to the story, he just hangs hands around and gives you a hand unlike LC where that jhinga-lala guy actually is a part of the story.

Began playing the first title around midnight yesterday after concluding Alice: Madness Returns and had me hooked to it for almost 2 hours! :P

First impression - definitely more hilarious than the Ratchet & Clank series and no LOADING screens! The cheesy dialogue options, interactions with non-humans (a cow for instance - the response is only a moo but Deathspank's responses to those are too darn funny), the kind of objectives to be accomplished (collecting poop from the enemy character by beating them with a poop hammer lol). The visuals are a mix of 2D and 3D elements set on a fantasy medieval world.

Other than those The other standard features from the RPG genre are present - character upgrading which includes armors/weapons/abilities etc, interaction with NPCs, plenty of side missions etc. Combat system is similar to Diablo and Deathspank can use several weapons to pull a combo by alternating the hits with different weapons. A Justice Meter which is gradually filled with orbs collected by defeating enemy AI can be used to unleash a powerful attack once it is completely filled. Specific upgrades can be chosen when Deathspank's XP level increases. There is also a hint system within the game (mostly pointless since most of the significant things are highlighted in yellow on the objectives) which requires Deathspank to find certain collectibles scattered around the world.

Ah my weekend is set! :D
