At least it's open source.
Since when did open source tolerate IP theft?

It's open source, the evidence should be plain for all to see. If there is any IP theft.

Whenever this has happened in the past the offending code was removed and substituted with non infringing code.

See, in this country, we do give a damn about such things.

Oh what pray tell are they going to do with Deepseek if the allegations made are true :)

Well IP theft would be bad only if Open AI it's didn't basically copy the entire internet without any regard for copyright or IP themselves.

To make that case it has to be shown harm was caused to the copyright owner.

But if Deepseek copies open AI, then the harm will be more obvious.

So not the same

Loop holes will be more embarrassment to ccp than anything ever

It is obvious, OpenAI and all the other model creators blatantly scraped copyright material using bots before all the copyright holders knew it has happening and they been trying to license content after the fact to avoid lawsuits as much as possible.

They have been sued by various media houses because it has been easy to recreate the original content, at least with the earlier models. Legally, it will take time to sort out.

It is actually understood that all the Chinese models are using distillation to learn from the existing American models. In a way, there are doing to American AI companies what they did to the media houses, so it is not that different.

Let me copy + paste my own,

It's common knowledge.

Believe it or not, the internet is limited. Current crop of AIs have used up all data there was.

How do you train the next gen of AIs? You train them on synthetic data.

Synthetic data: is like you ask ChatGPT to make up questions, answers, and train DeepSeek on that.

All AIs in the future will be trained off current AI. As simple as that.

How do people train in the real world? Do they start from scratch or build up on top of the knowledge given by teachers and books?

Again, let me repeat, it's common knowledge in the AI/ML community. Yeah, the sun is bright. Everyone knows.

Nobody is asking for their money back. It's the way forward.

a ton of people have already covered this in their videos on YouTube about the harm caused by it you can go and look at them but it's not just about the harm caused it is also the fact that they have a shitty privacy policy which also uses the user data to train itself and since it can't be run locally like Deepseek it leaves the uninformed people no other option like it until Deepseek.

Why don't you post some sources?

To date nobody has successfully sued openAI

Not quite. Let's say you review some books that takes time and effort.

Had they taken the effort like you did to do reviews then you can equate them to yourself not otherwise. Why would you?

Now someone else shows up and just parrots out your reviews and claims them as their own.

Of course they can get the job done for a lot less.

The only thing China is the world's leader at doing. That too badly if the arms industry is any indicator :hilarious:
