Having tired of the problems users face with Torrent search sites, a former Torrentz.com developer has created a website he promises will provide a better customer experience, Defiant.

“TorrentSpy is too slow, MyBittorrent isn’t accurate and Bittorrent.com is full of dead links to **** sites,†Defiant.ws explains to Slyck.

Along with benefiting from the developer’s obsession for fast page loading times and the usual functions and features expected from a modern Torrent site, Defiant.ws offers extra little touches which improve the experience. For example, users can search either by Torrent name or the file names contained within each Torrent.

The site is regrettably limited by the lack categories, focusing solely on the search functions.

Being a spin-off from Torrentz.com, Defiant.ws knows the legal difficulties of staying online in an environment surrounded by copyright infringement. As such Defiant.ws has added an extra layer of security for the site owner and host.

It is this security which makes the site stand apart from the other Torrent websites.

“Defiant doesn’t host torrent files, or even hot-link to them,†Defiant.ws tells Slyck, “We link to the relevant tracker homepage for the Torrent, where users can get the .torrent file they want.â€

Because of this, Defiant.ws does not leech Torrents, giving other site owners full credit for the Torrent coupled with the chance to display the usually advertisements.

Time is needed to test whether the MPAA will see a difference, or even be concerned about one, but Defiant.ws think they are on the safe side of the law,

“Defiant is like the Google search engine, but even less than that. Google links directly to torrents, I don’t.â€
