For those who are interested. The Dell 1525 N-series laptops are available in India as well, even though they arent shown on the website. I just saw one with my dealer

These come without windows, so cheaper than normal 1525 ones. + you can install dell-customised version of ubuntu on these too.

I just bought an n series 1525 for my sis with 2ghz c2d , 3gb ram @ 37000 from computer empire np with 1yr on site warranty. Good deal IMO.
