Until recently, users that wanted to purchase an Alienware notebook had only three models from which to choose, but it seems like Dell is really eager to increase its gaming laptop portfolio as the company is currently working on releasing two new models that follow the 14-inch and 18-inch form factors.

The first pictures of the soon-to-be-released notebooks have already been spotted on the Web hinting that their release isn't that far off.

Sadly, not so many details about the configuration of these systems are available right now, but it is pretty safe to assume that these will be powered by Intel's second generation Core processors while also featuring at least 4GB of DDR3 memory.

Graphics wise, the larger 18-inch model can be configured to pack either two AMD Radeon HD 6870M chips in CrossFire mode or two Nvidia GeForce GTX 460M GPUs set up in SLI and is said to sport a 1080p resolution display.

The Radeon HD 6870M includes 800 stream processors, 40 texturing units and 16 ROP units, while the core is clocked at 675MHz and can feature up to 1GB of GDDR3 or GDDR5 memory.

Its competitor, the GTX 460M, is powered by 192 CUDA cores and features a 192-bit memory bus, GDDR5 memory support and its operating clocks are set at 675MHz for the GPU and 1250MHz for the memory.

Moving to the smaller, 14-inch Alienware laptop, this sports pretty much the same design cues as its older brother, and comes with either an Nvidia GeForce GT 555M GPU or AMD Radeon HD 6730M or 6770M dedicated graphics.

CrossFire or SLI are not available, as the cards don't feature multi-GPU support.

No details regarding pricing or availability of the two models have been made official at this point.

Nice information dude but they are too costly and instead of that price we can get xbox or ps3 with a mid range laptop.....
so it just a show-off for rich guys....don't u think...??,

When will any of those above mentioned range hit India? XPS 15 is back on dell's site, but again with yester-year's hardware. HP pavilion range is out in their site, but no retailer has any news about that. Strange!!!

yea they will try to sell the old stuffs in India ..I am also waiting for a good laptop ...MSI fx620 is also a good one..
