Anyway this will cost arnd 18.5k~19k(shipped with tax). Does it make any sense at that price point(if it really comes out to be a TN-panel)?

Eggzactly :P I would rather spend a few thou more and get the vx2025, or else save some dough and get a 19" :D

Well, I'd wait for the reviews before making any comments...the vx2025 indeed would be a better buy if the dell turns out to be a TN panel.

Better Buy....frigging min 6k price diff.

Behardware rates the Viesonic VX2025wm as a top rated one.If one wants to spend frigging 6k~7k extra just for the extra ergonomics( I can do better with putting some books/newspapers below the stand) & can even withstand the banding issues(people r still getting A02) , then he/she is welcome.

The link for the behardware review(I am linking to only one of the page..read the whole review to get good idea)

Updated Survey: 13 LCD 20'' 5, 6, 8, 16 ms (page 17: Viewing angles, movies) - BeHardware

the 2007wfp is a better buy compared to 2025 so this lcd would be anyday abetter than the 2025 :P

how is it a better buy. it costs 6k more. takes more than 2 weeks to reach you, not guaranteed what version u will get & has many issues like banding & backlight bleeding. oh & i 4got it has 16ms compared to 8ms of the 2025. only thing better on the dell is the inputs. quality wise both are same. only diff being that dell viewability is better at angles which i dont care as i sit in the front of the screen. another difference is that the dell i think has a glossy finish like the truelife & 2025 has the matt finish. so depending on if people like the reflection or not they can choose. I myself dont like anything reflecting on the screen as i have a window behind my chair which reflects on the screen so i prefer the matt finish.

so at the end it both are equally good. it depends on the user what he is looking for. if he doesnt need the inputs & doesnt like truelife i think he can save 6k. otherwise if those 2 are a must he should get the dell.

From the same review -
Dell doesn’t need us to the point that they chose to do something that seems completely incomprehensible to us. They have kept the nasty habit of changing the panel depending on their stocks. You can buy a monitor equipped with a specific panel, but it won’t be the same the next month. Obviously Dell takes a great liberty here as the 2007WFP can be equipped with IPS panels… or MVAs. It will depend on the season, wholesale prices they obtain, or possible product shortages. Liquid crystals change as well as electronic components, afterglow, viewing angles, and movies. So, how can consumers rely on test results under these circumstances?

eeks! Thats scary :O

Banding and backlight bleeding was fixed for 2007WFP in Rev a02. Besides if you see WSG Forums site, People have reported as many problems with Viewsonic 2025WM as with Dell. Regarding the response time, Dell has g2g of 8ms and typical typical response of 16 ms. The Viewsonic also has 8ms g2g and 16 ms typical. you can verify that from viewsonic site.

Regarding the Panels, only two types were ever found in 2007WFP according to TFT central.

20"WS LG.Philips S-IPS (LM201W01 or LM201WE2)

The default one is the LM201W01. some people got the panel with LM201WE2 which is again a S-IPS Panel better response time of 6ms g2g

Both panels have thier own set of problems and advantages. The main advantages that Viewsonic has over Dell that you can purchase it with out any delay (if its available in stock) and that its 6k cheaper. But for the price difference, you get a very flexible and adjustable display, various input options, An S-IPS Panel for good color reproduction, door delivery, 5 year warranty.

If you have the cash and want the best in India, then Dell, If you dont want the features and want to save some cash, then Viewsonic is the option to go for.

In the behardware review if you see properly the VX2025wm was recommended just below its big brother VP2030wb because Viewsonic tweaked the AU-Optronics panel very well..Plus as always movies will always look best on a P-MVA panel with almost no twinkling effect.

& As far as I know a02 rev of dell 2007fwp doen't fix the banding issue properly.I was in a local Bangalore mall (FORUM , Kiramangala)recently ..DELL was having huge amount of stuffs @ basement . I saw the Dell 2007 FWP , it was a02 rev & believe me it still had backbleeding (that also easily noticable in proper lighting conditions).Net connection was also there, so I checked there for banding as well.To be honest the banding in dell 2007fwp is still more than what is there in my Viewsonic 1912wb-3.

So people who would spend 6k extra for the S-Video & USB hub are always welcome to do so.HDCP is the last thing to care for anyway. Lastly its upto one's personal choice always.
