So, even after five years things have not changed at DELL India!!
In the initial period of DELL India, (when no retail selling of DELL computer was available), I asked for a quote for a laptop for personal use, both over e-mail as well as phone. Their response was so disgusting that I vowed never to touch DELL again. This was at a time when I was a blind fan of DELL (having returned from USA, in the near past, where DELL had an impeccable image). I went for Thinkpad and have never looked back since. Now I have been able to influence my company's purchase policy to go only for Lenovo/HP and never DELL.
