I was on the Dell India website yesterday. They have now starting quoting their products with Windows 7. For those who were waiting for Windows 7, have a look.

Win 7 was anyways free to those who purchased their laptops after June 26th. So earlier prices too were inlcluding Win 7 only. It's just that now the laptops comes pre-installed with Win 7 unlike earlier ones that came with Vista and will be shipped with Win 7 after 22nd October.

I am aware of that, but buying a laptop and updating the OS within a month or 2 is a hassle. I just posted it for people who have been waiting for the pre-installed ones. They don't need to wait till the 22nd to order.

Just saw this today, dell studio 15 with core i7 mobile proccy, but has win vista, whereas others have Win 7.

can i get a free upgrade to win7 on my toshiba portege m900 laptop which was purchased 2 weeks back from singapore? or the free upgrade is valid only on dell?

other companies do have upgrade offers too. check the toshiba site to see if they do have that scheme and also, if your particular model is eligible.
