Got tangled up with some personal issues after paying the token, which resulted in a prolonged delay, but @ahd remained uncomplaining throughout the whole deal. Kudos!

Although we initially planned for a pickup-from-home event, I had to scrap the idea after a couple of courier-related shenanigans. @ahd was kind enough to take the burden of packing the whole thing and arrange the shipping part. Since the laptop was intended for a next of kin and it was better to ship it directly to their place due to the distance factor, @ahd also took his time to perform a clean installation of Windows and configure everything before handing it to the courier.

My relative got the laptop a few days ago, and there's no complaint from their end. The condition of the item is exactly what as described in the OP, which is good enough for their needs.
