Hey Guys I purchased my Dell Inspiron N5010 on 16th May 2011 and after 8 months my stock Hard disk WD Scorpio Blue ( WDC WD5000BEVT-75A0RT0), 500GB 5.4 RPM started making clicking noise after running absolutely smooth before, so I called Dell and they arranged for an replacement and replaced with Toshiba Mk5076GSX (500Gb, 5.4 Rpm). This Hard disk was very noisy right from Day 1 it made loud chuck chuck sounds, I thought it's faulty so I called them again and it was again replaced with the same Toshiba model only.

Now what irritated me that this second one was also making weird noise and not normal noise at all, it was the loudest of all and one could easily hear weird noises coming from laptop even during daytime. So I called them again and told them not to replace with Toshiba at all but they kept me waited for around one and a half month and told me that they are having problems procuring the Western Digital and Seagate hard Disk from the manufacturer, and also it was being difficult for me to handle my data so I agreed for third replacement with Toshiba only hoping that would be free of bugs.

But alas the third one is also making grinding like sounds with occassional tick tick noise What irritates me is that all the three Toshiba Hard Disks have made different sounds than each other, if it would be like one type of sound only then I would have believed that it's standard among Toshiba but the sounds have been altogether different in all the three ones.

It really annoys me because a Laptop is supposed to be Silent and these sounds which are loud at night are even hearable in the daytime.

As I am being a Movies and Sitcom freak, I requires a more promising Hard Drive which will store my data without any headaches and fear of loosing them is what bugs me.

Other than that I also have a lot of my office data which as a result of day to day Hard Disk Replacement I have to store them online on Microsoft Skydrive.

Now yesterday I told them if they don't provide me with the solution or I'm going to mail my entire situation/problem to the process director , head of operation of Dell India telling them about my bitter experience with Dell. I am gonna tell them the entire conversation which has happened between me and the resolution team and also gonna complain him about the false assurances which i have recieved from Dell guys. Right from january they are giving me assurance regarding WD hard disk but faied to provide me so.
