Dell today introduced the XPS 15z laptop, the thinnest 15-inch PC on the planet, and the first in a series of new thin and ultra-powerful products from Dell to come this year. The XPS 15z is powered by the 2nd-generation Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processors with the GPU intensive tasks being handled by the NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M discrete graphics card that is available in 1GB and 2GB memory sizes. It also features an optional 15.6-inch Full HD (1080p) display for superior entertainment and web-browsing experiences, a backlit keyboard with adjustable brightness and up to eight hours of battery life and is has an eye-catching case that is less than an inch thick. The Dell XPS 15z is priced from $999 and goes up from there depending on how you configure the system.

Seriously, what a let down!

I was banking upon this beauty to get some cool GPU, but not to be. I guess I'll just go in for the updated Dell XPS LX502.

When its thinner its almost impossible to put in a beefy cooling required by higher end GPU. You win some, you lose some

Its thinner at the back, but offers only dual cores as option and I think it doesnt have 2.1 JBL either. Seriously I wouldnt recommend thin laptops unless you are a style freak (and heat tolerant) or the thing has LV/ULV processors (like MB Air)

On a sidenote, the build looks more finished, I wonder if this can make its way as a high-end Vostro without a GPU

^ Not everyone games on their laptops. But laptop can play TF2 and even Crysis wars, but i do not cause i have a decent system at home.

A un-Worthy Competition to MacBook Pro..

For 70K, people will definitely go for MacBook Pro and Install Windows in it...

I am happy with my L501x i.e. First gen XPS 15.. The Second Gen is great, but the 15z costs more, so not worth it

I took XPS 15 coz I got it for 15K less and has Much Better Config(Then).

Now the MBP 13" one had almost same config, except no GFX card. Only Intel HD3000

So when for 70K, We can get an MBP, then why Go for XPS 15z??

Online retailers means try CafeGadgets,Letsbuy,Flipkart,Indiaplaza etc...
