Laptops Dell launches new Inspiron R laptops with SB CPU's

Dell has refreshed its US line of Inspiron with SB CPU's.

Currently the CPU choices are the i3 2310 and i5 2410.

The GPU part is disappointing as the discrete option for 15" is HD6470 and 17" is Nvidia 525.

Pricing is decent with 15" laptops starting from $549.

the GPU is still disappointing. Was expecting atleast HD6700(480SPs) series which would actually be an upgrade over HD5650(400SPs)

Yup. seems like they dont want Inspiron to eat into XPS lineup and so just giving anemic GPU's to the Inspiron 15R line. The AMD HD64xx is only marginally faster than the Intel HD3000!!!

Its better to get them w/o a GPU at all IMHO then. Was expecting at least one USB 3.0 port though :(
 
i hate laptop who mix up different config and worst gpu card while buying new laptop will not survive new games will run all low setting and somewhat lagg

and dell is selling lot of laptop as hot package profit with poor gpu config

so it is better to wait for new price drop or switch to amd-ati better config laptop soon
 
Dell still havent launched SB xps in india :@ two of my friends were waiting for the updated xps 15 on my suggestion but they are blasting me now since the older xps 15 has resurfaced on dell india website :no:
 
Talked to a DELL rep today. He said that Inspiron and XPS series will get SB update soon. No news about the Vostro/Latitude though :@
 
I just got a brochure at forum mall bangalore today..

saw the xps 15with

core i5-480m ,4gb ,500gb and gt420M at Rs.50400

and xps 14 with

core i7-740QM,4gb,500gb and 2gb gt425m at Rs.53900.

the same config at dell.com would cost atleast 7K less.

But what surprised me was the pricing of the alienware series.

M15x with

core i7-740QM,4gb,500gb with 1.5gb GTX460M DDR5 at Rs.98900.

could not find a similar config on dell.com.though i found one with GTX 260 which was costing 79000.
 
Did anyone notice that Dell is offering Dell Streak Tablet only for $99 with purchase of any system (laptop or desktop, except Alienware) above $699.99 in its US site ?
 
people any idea about the battery life for the dell inspiron 15 with sandy bridge?

can the dell ispiron 15 with i5-2410m and Integrated Intel 3000 HD graphics play 720p/1080p movies without a discrete graphics card?

any links for battery life while playing 720p movies?

It can definitely play them.
No reviews up yet but check the older inspiron 15R review. Battery life will be definitely more that what it offers since SB consumes much lesser power than arrandale.
