Laptops Dell people ask for CVV # while ordering. Shud i give them ?

Paying with a CC over the phone with Dell is safe, I have done it couple of time and nothing has gone wrong, but my mindset is different than yours, I'm not paranoid about security, so finally its your friend's call.

+1

everytime you hand over your card at the local restaurant for paying a bill, all the required cc details are at the mercy of your server

does that mean i should stop using my CC next time I go dining out?

@kranthi4545

Can you please give me more details on the corporate discount. Is it still available ? If yes then why the guy that i talked to said no. In case you can get me a better deal, i along with my friend can give you a call tomorrow from our office to place order.

Good practice would be to blacken out the CVV number on your credit card, after memorizing or storing it safely..

This will prevent any misuse during purchases

i have purcahsed 4 laptop in past 4 yrs from 2004 to 2008 from dell and gave cvv everytime i order. nothing bad had happened i dont think so there is any issue with that and second thing anyone can see u cvv number when u give it while shopping it hardly takes a second and that way its more insecure and more chance of fraud reason why person working with dell do such crap and will lost his job. on other hand a person working at shop can do this its hardly matters he will lost his job which doesnt going to cost him much so bigg difference better stay aleart when u use ur cc in normal life rather then using with a repo company lolz

We have finally ordered the Dell Inspiron 1525 and best part is that we used an old quotation (1 month old) to place the order because the price was less by a couple of thousand then. What we finally got was:

Dell Inspiron 1525

Intel Core2Duo 1.83 Ghz Processor

2GB RAM

160 GB Hdd

(Useless) Windows Vista

Other basic defaults

noise isolation earbuds

HDD Partitioning

Nylon backpack

All for 39800 bucks final amount with octroi and delivery to Nashik :)

Hi all

As per my previous post in this thread we have ordered the Dell Laptop. Today my friend got an email saying that the estimated date of delivery is 21st August, different from what the sales girl told us (11th August). My friend is flying on 14th. We made payment thru credit card on 28th and the same was realized on 29th July. But the website says that the order was received on 31st.

How can i ensure that the order reaches asap to him ?
