Guys plz post your views on Dell Warranty.
the exact procedure and success rate of claiming the warranty.
The RMA process???
tech support email-ids,telephone nos. ???
where's the service tag on dell monitors?

And what else???

visit DELL.co.in for support info u need.

for LCD monitors u dont need a service tag number...

just tell u purchased LCD as a standalone product and what u have is only the order number and serial number.
 
well had a problem earlier with my 24" dell lcd.

1) call the toll free number & ask for some technical person who u can explain your problem to.

2) keep the order number ready, its on the bill.

3) write down the serial number. for lcd its on the back of the panel.
this is what i did. i explained my problem & the next day at 1pm a brand new 24" lcd was at my doorstep. they dint take the old lcd back at that same time. after 3 days i got a call if i was convinced with my new lcd, to which my answer for yes. the next day they scheduled a pickup for the old 24" lcd from my place.

And I got my monitor at retail, dont seem to have an order number. HELP..........................

lazy??? i went thro' the entire "tech support" section and failed to see the toll free no. on the TOP?! my bad.. :ashamed:

least you could have done is post it here..:no:

BTW,I'm just having a minor backlight bleeding issue with my monitor..left & right edges..evident only in a dark background !

so wondering whether I should get it replaced?!

GUYS! Dell support is proving to be HOPELESS!!!

I filed a complaint regd. my monitor on the 28th of July & got the approval for a "brand new" replacement monitor..

i gave it a week's time and nothing happened!! every time i call tech support i'm made to wait for a min. of 15 mins. and eventually just hang up..

Finally after about 10 days I mailed tech support and fortunately got a reply the next day.It went something like this :

" This is with reference to the replacement of the LCD monitor and the status is as the order is a brand new one and its getting shipped from singapore to your place. The estimated date of delivery is not known yet. once the part comes to india logistics will keep you posted with the updates. you are requested to call on the numbers 080-25068032 and 080-25068034 and ask for part despatch team giving the SER NO: XXXXXXXXXXXX. please refer this SER NUMBER when ever you call on the above mentioned numbers so that they can assist you further.

So I call up tech support,get to the part dispatch section and wait for 15 mins.finally,i provide the case no. & serial no. of the part to the exec. only to hear her say "sorry..we don't have any info about this ".i poured out my grievances and she finally said she'd take the issue to the manager who was supposed to contact me.Well,nothing happened !!

yesterday,i sent a PROMISING mail to the customer care directly and was definitely expecting a reply today but nothing happened again.

it's been 22days..and i have a feeling they'll postpone it further!!

my original monitor took only 6 days to ship to my place! how long does it take to ship from s'pore to india by air??!

does anybody know the contact details of tech support personnel of the highest authority?? or just anyone i can contact regd. the same??

what should i do??

dude go ahead and call the customer support and ask them for a Manager the 1st guy ur gonna tak to u is gonna be a SME like me or a TL (make sure u ask them for their dell id ) and then ask thee guys for a senior manager and then speak to him ,make sure that u very irate on call and blast everyone u speak with ,tell the sr manager what all happend and forward him the mail ur got then u will get ur replacement real fast

PS: make sure u take dell ids of all guys u speak

if it's an ultrasharp model,your entitled to immediate replacement(premium panel guarantee)..
if not,i think they have a min. no of dead pixels mentioned in their policy to claim the warranty..

hmmm WTF even dell going down , might be a stock issue but 22 days hmm and no response is sad. that is one good part of gettin it from a place like SMC u can just take the thing there and blast them in and out if they dont replace it.

yep,it sure is...

jus like any most other international companies that comes to india claiming the best in service and go down like the rest as time passes!

You just get to buy two models from the entire monitor lineup,at stores all over..one of them being se198wfp! but not evryne wants to be restricted to 2 models..

let's see if i get a mail from them tomorrow explaining everything else it's SHOWTIME :@ !!!

i better get a perfect replacement to justify the wait too..

i finally called up Dell this afternoon,blasted a few ppl and got thro' to the manager !
he said he'll get back to me first thing tomorrow and give me a update,after doing a background check into this problem.Also apologized(for the first time)for the inconvenience caused.

will letya all know what happens tom.!
 
I purchased 17" LG Lcd on May 2007. Two months after the purcahse it develop a verticle sharp line .

I just logged the complained on LG webpage. On third day a service personnel just changed the whole screen.

its now working fine. I am satisfied by the service.
 
I PM few queries about Dell Warranty to one of our member who arranging DELL GO for monitors and one mail to primeabgb, no one replied in last 12-15 days.

So you can think that there is some problem/issue with Dell Warranty.
 
got a call this morning from the manager i spoke to earlier..
He assured me that the new monitor will arrive on moday before 5pm!
And late this afternoon,i got a call from dell(logistics i sppse)to confirm my address and he said it will be delivered tomorrow !:)

phew! we let you all know when i get the new monitor..

ADVICE: if you think the support guys are not doin anything to help,approach the higher authority and let out your grievances! a customer shld not be taken for granted by anyone!!!
