PC Peripherals Dell RMA/Warranty ?

So you can think that there is some problem/issue with Dell Warranty.

you'll just need the dell order id & monitor serial no. to claim the warranty..

After which they provide you with a "case number",to be mentioned thereon.
 
hmm...just to be sure, i purchased my dell 22" monitor from a nehru place shop. the shopkipper told me that it had 5yr warranty. its even written on the bill. what should i do to claim the warranty (in future;) )
 
Guys!

just got ma replacement monitor this morning..

the backlight bleeding seems the same :(

now it bleeds at the top & bottom..

esp. considering watching movies with black bands on the to p & bottom,it becomes evident.

and there's a mild bluish tint to everything.. :huh:

what am i to do??

Repeat whole process again, or Just call the Manager and explain him detail, take his dell id and note down the time you call him, damn now dell too :( :@

yeah,guess i have too..

btw,i bought it online,not from a store.

or dunno if i should just stick with this one..

frankly speaking there's some bleeding at the top & bottom but it's not all that bad and the bluish tint seems to have gone..

dunno if the next one will be free from backlight bleeding..

hey chillax..

i guess i shouldn't have used the work 'severe'..it was just glaring at first..
just ran a few games n movies and it ain't all that bad.toned down the lcd settings too..

i'd just be wasting my time trying out new replacements to get a perfect one.afaik the chances of getting a good panel from dell are 1/7..

these entry level lcds just aren't put together properly..

let's see..if am not fully satisfied by monday,will give the manager a call!

Damn,when my monitor was doing just fine..something bad had to happen!
The + & - (up & down) buttons on the monitor have ceased to work out of the blue!!
tried it a couple of times but it's just gone!!!
i just got the new replacement monitor on the 23rd of august and here's a damn problem !

my guess is DELL's gonna make me apply for replacements every year(i have a 5yr wrrnty:ashamed: ) considering the questionable quality of their products !???

have to go thro' the process all over again or call the manager(if i can find his no. :huh: ) ...!

My belief in DELL is diminishing as days go by...
 
UPDATE:

after filing a complaint and having waited for bout 2 days...

i get a REFURBISHED unit when i was sppsd to get a brand new one!! the case/complaint clearly states "BRAND NEW MONITOR".

Of crse i did call them again only to find out that it was a wrong part dispatch! they've addressed the issue and set my case to HIGH PRIORITY!

Meanwhile I informed Dell Logs. about their mistake and waiting for them to pickup the refurbished unit..

So,i'm currently waiting for my new monitor and if there's a problem with availability,they've promised to upgrade me to a higher model..

sure do hope the new one's gonna be aight ! else i'm asking for a compensation.

gotta wait n see what happens.. :(
 
dell support asks for 11 digit order number
but the no printed on my bill is 16 digit.. its def not serial no

billed from Prime ABGB

as far as the monitor goes,u only need the fllg:

ORDER NO. (Printed on the bill/dell tax invoice,usually 6-7 digit)
MONITOR SERIAL NO: (back of your monitor,mostly starts with CN)

if they ask for service tag no. ,jus tell them its a standalone lcd monitor and that they don't come with a service no...
And give them the order no. !

what about monitor purchased from TE GO.
no bill or no order number. just monitor came to me... bought it a year ago from raghu. can anyone tell me what to do then ?

he'll probably have the details you'll require,contact him..
coz u'll definitely need the ORDER ID in lieu of the non-existent SERVICE-TAG.
