Its not even one month I bought this dell studio laptop its started giving problems. Its actually within one week time that I got this problem. My laptop was not booting. So I called the tech support and she tried to help over the phone which in the end was not fruitful. She said I need to replace my motherboard. I am like what the hell its not even one month and she is telling me replace the motherboard. So she decided to send the technician to my place. Technician came and did whatever he was told to do and fixed it. Well he spent more than 2 to 3 hours to fix that. Because after putting the new motherboard, it was still giveing some error messages in booting. But somehow he fixed it. Within 24 hours, the problem started again. It was not able to boot. I called tech support again. This time the representative is saying to replace the hard disk.I said you better replace the laptop with a new one. He said he will transfer me to a laptop replacement department. In between this, there were so many times the call was dropped. Finally I reached this so called replacement department. The representative said she is in customer care and as per terms and conditions of dell, they cannot replace a laptop. I am regretting myself now for buying Dell Studio 15

Just ****ing sue them and set a precedent..These assholes at dell keep repeating this shit.. ****ing morons..

Dell quality is not the same as it used to be. Call them again do not talk about replacement just say to them solve my problem. Even then problem persist then escalate the problem and talk to higher authorities in dell

After spending countless hours talking to Dell customer support and visits by technician to replace the hdd, it was found that the issue is with Vista Ultimate auto update. Called up MS tech support and the support guy tried his hand with remote assistance but to no avail.

Finally, Dell is asking me to disable auto update as the solution. They say, the new SP is due for vista and the issue should be resolved. I feel cheated for paying 6k extra over the cost of Vista Home for Vista Ultimate.

If you have the contact of any higher authorities in dell, please PM me the details. Want to talk to them about options regarding downgrading to Vista Home.

My sincere condolences to you Jaguar. I once again REITERATE , CUSTOMER CARE AND AFTER SALES IN INDIA IS A MYTH. Was planning to recommend Dell to a colleague but now I have changed my mind. Buying a laptop is like gambling (matka). Everything depends on your luck . :)

I think we've heard that enough, ranting wont do any good, so please stop saying that anywhere and everywhere you can,,:p

Its not ranting. It is a cold and calculated measure to drive this fact home into the heads of people who might harbour any other thoughts. Of course, it might sometimes fall on deaf ears. :)

Hey all heres my thoughts on the topic. I ordered my studio 1537 about 2 months ago now. When it arrived the screen wasn't assembled properly:mad: . So I rang dell support. 2 and a half hours later talking to people i could barely understand they said they would send someone to fix it. They turned up a week later to fix it. Every thing was fine then. A week after that the wlan card and hdd failed so i rang dell again:mad: . Another 2 hours later they said they would send someone to fix it. Not even 3 hours after the technician left the laptop failed again:mad: . I rang dell again and asked them to replace the whole laptop. They simply said they can't because dells return policy didn't allow it:huh: . They said all they could do was replace the motherboard and hope for the best. Now if that doesn't show dells shity customer service i dont know what would.

yea and its getting worse day by day. they hardly give daam about issues and simply give blunt answers. I can say now dell sucks big time when it comes to customer care

All this is starting to scare me. Keep hearing horror stories about the dell studio every now & then. I'm planning on buying a dell inspiron pretty soon. But now I'm having 2nd thoughts. Does the inspiron suffer from the same kind of defects as the studio? I have yet to come across an inspiron horror story. Or have they not come out of the closet?

well what the hell someone do with complete cover if ur laptop have issues once in every 2 months daam then ru that much free for thing like complains and repairs though its ur home but still issues are increasing day by day and main issues is aweful customer care and their blunt answer keeping customer standing in middle

OT : planning to buy an ASUS / TOSHIBA laptop from Singapore (IT FARE).. how good are their customer support centers in India ? anyone dealt with them ?
