crazikum could you please point me to the product page of this 2410HD model?

Congrats on your 2410w - does it have a product page too?

Thanks :)

^^Heh isn't that obvious Dell charges a lucrative price for their premium panels? I suggest you wait for Chaos' Dell contact to respond else someone suggest your friendly neighbour Dell representative to start the EPP! :ohyeah:

^^TechHead - similar reply. I got a quote of 46,300 the difference prolly cause I'm in Navi Mumbai.

The 2408WFP was for 45,400 but thanks to the input lag issue I'm a little jittery. That'd be better for movies though. Divided between gaming and movies.

Also maybe someone wants to comment but IMO IPSs don't offer as good IQ with wider viewing angles as MVA and PVA displays. Not talking about the stated viewing angles, talking about the relative IQ and viewability at an angle.

Chaos, Sangram others any comments??

No one got friends or relatives in the US headed to India any sooner? :P

That's be a better option if they can lurk around the thing!

LOL, I am crazy about the viewing angles and color reproduction of IPS panels, but not crazy enough to spend 48k for it.

wow. are we having a GO for this :)

It would be a great buy if we can get prices down to something around 25-29k, but I know its unlikely

TH and chaos, all the best

Had seen a 2007WFP and a Samsung 173p side by side, and the Samsung had a weird change in contrast when you went slightly off axis. Not so with the Dell. Not sure how the latest PVA panels are.

The only issue IMHO with viewing angles on IPS panels is the purple shade that shows up in black backgrounds. Otherwise seems good enough.

I can't say for sure but most premium H-IPS panels do come with an atw polarizer to reduce the so called satin / purple angle glow inherent to IPS panels.

The U2410 is an H-IPS and has the same panel as the LP2475 as mentioned above.

Another flaw with IPS (not exclusive but more so) is sub-pixel bleed. the sharpened text has pinkish frayed edges on a white background. This was noticeable on my 2209WA before calibration at high brightness (>70) but disappears at <50. Using cleartype/sub-pixel smoothing greatly reduces this and panels with an atw polarizer are seemingly better in this regard.

I own the same H-IPS panel (Philips 240PW9EB) & it has low backlight bleed & no purple tinge on black at extreme angles

only thing is that green & red are little over saturated but I like that

Would that be an upgrade if i sell my 2408WFP and get this IPS panel ?

Depends on how much you'd be paid for the 2408. The upgrade from a S-PVA panel to an IPS one is not much if you ask me. Or not at least to me. TN to any other honestly makes a vastly difference!

thanks..will be waiting for the reviews of this IPS panel.

I'm trying to get the pricing of the HP2475. It seems it's called the green colour monitor here. There are two - the 2485 is seemingly a 10-bit panel - over a lakh maybe, but the 2475 is priced around the 48K mark. Pity it's hardly 500 euros abroad which works out to 33K or so.

I've noticed the purple bleed thing too Eddy. Udit, just how wide were your viewing angles my boy? :P
