I guess that is the market startegy to bring it in competition with the Windows.......lol....Linux from a Sellers point will not be profitable i guess

Why cudn't the offer linux ever then? They are unwilling to offer desktop linux on most of their comps but OS X is no problem?
Simply because Linux is not as user friendly as Windows or MAC OSX.

I think it is because in a few years time OS X will run on Intel chips and Dell has always been using Intel chips...

Agreed, but there are still a lot of customers who do not wish to install XP on their systems and were forced to do so, and pay for it too by dell.

99 % dont care a less, otherwise they would have picked another system. Dell aint the only OEM there, looking at the call center jokes I understand why they will stick to Windows or MAC. After sales support will skyrocket otherwise.

OK, do me a favour.
Go to Dell, Gateway, Toshiba, Acer or any other OEM's website u can think of (the US website pls, ot Indian).
Look for desktops, and see what choice of OS u generally get. Granted, there are always one or two linux boxes available, but that is rare.
So there really IS no other OEM.
And many people do give a damn, in fact some of them have gone to the FTC and its state counterparts, asking that their money be refundeed, as they are willing to return the XP OEM CD without using it.
There are entire websites which tell u how to do this.
