Laptops Dell XPS 15 Woes!!! Dell Guys Help!!

Hi Guys,

As you guys know, I have bought an XPS 15 L501x last Nov 2010..

It was a great laptop until it started giving Problems:

Problem 1:

HDD got a DST error in March. So I Have called the CC and they sent a New HDD(Samsung 640GB again) to replace it..

It went fine till then

Problem 2:

After a while, When using in battery mode, the Display started losing the Brightness and contrast on its own..

Also I experienced very slow bootups and shut downs.. The Overall performance is also soo low that I cant even play CS 1.6 :(

Told to Dell CC,they sent a replacement LCD.

The engineer came home and he checked it.. He said LCD is fine and Went to diagnostics.. Found a HDD error(Again)

So dell has sent a new HDD today.. Toshiba this time..

Problem 3:

Today when the engineer came, He inserted new HDD, and started Installation of Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit. The installation halted at " Expanding windows Files (0%) " and never moved forward even after 30 min. It was soo damn slow too.. Now the Engineer has removed one ram and tried.. Tried the Same 4 times with each RAM Slot and each RAM Stick.. The installation never moved. It wasn't a problem with Disc as the installation got over in 15min on My desktop without issues.

The Engineer called up his Manager and talked. They are sending a new ODD+ Win 7 DVD. Even though the Disc has no problems and the Drive never had any problem opening any Disc(Even Linux Disc)...

But guys,I got fed up of it. And since the Past 8 months,I had to reinstall the OS 8 times and got many BSODs and Crashes.

When I talked to the Engineer he said the Motherboard might be faulty and needs to be replaced.

But the manager did not even listen to us and is sending a New ODD+Disc..

NOW WHAT TO DO?

I use it extensively on Battery mode and code alot of programs. So cant keep up with slow speeds and these many replacements..

Never faced any such probelms with my 2 Dell Desktops and Dell Inspiron laptop (Tough one Desktop ODD isnt working after 3 years)..

DELL GUYS PLEASE HELP.!!!!

4GB

640GB

1GB GT420M

6 Cel Battery

Win 7 Pro 64Bit

Backlit keyboard.

You can try sending a mail to the dell customer care saying that you are happy with their service but this cannot keep going on and on. Since it has become a recurrent issue with one part going or the other in regular intervals, you can ask for a brand new replacement or ask them to ensure that the laptop works properly going forward. Dnt talk on phone. Send a mail. :)
 
Like Abhi said, send them a detailed email and register a complaint. I can escalate this on your behalf but first you have to contact tech support or customer care or sales regarding the issue.

Like i said Dell India and Dell International are 2 different entities, and customer care or sales wont do anything until tech supp involves thier intervention, you need to contact tech support, call them up and yes try running the 32 bit dell extended test, if you dont know how to to, let me know, ill help ya out

I think u should talk to dell tech representatives, send an email to every one on dell including sales and everything, call them 10 ntimes a day asking for a brand new laptop replacement....

go to dell india website...check thier emails, and send to every god dam person on dell...These tech rep supervisors are very tough to get to, but u have to get to them and convey yr situation .............
 
Actually I made 10 calls regarding this..

They said they will check after HDD replacement, and now after ODD Replacement..

Can you give me a Mail ID of a Person who can Listen? Because nO one has ever listened to me properly..

Except one guy in Customer Care called Hari..

I have done the 32 Bit Diagnostics and it passed all tests.. Still the Parts keep failing after regular Intervals and the System has become so slow.. Can you give me an Email ID of a Person who will Listen to me? Because after 10 calls no one has ever listened to me properly at Dell CC. Though its good that they keep sending the parts as replacement. I dont want to replace these many times.. It better be one replacement or None..

Well , there have been multiple failures and part replacements . This is the biggest alarming sign .

The first and second person are technical support directors.

Third person is a customer support director.

And the fourth person is a vice president.

The second and third person are out of office with no email access till October 3rd, however their phone numbers are available. And I dont think that you should email the third person. You can try emailing the first person.

Emailed them already. No reply though.

Gave you a PM. MAde 4 calls today.. Finally they say an engineer will come on 29th to check the issue.

Got a call from Mr. Ajith today morning.

Today eve and engineer would come to review the settings and the problem.

Will get back to you with the details.
 
For One day, I thought my issues were fixed.

But to my surprise, they re surfaced again this morning..

Gave a call to Mr. Ajith. He said that the Higher Authorities have received the mail and so, they will take up the case from now on.

A person Mr. Ivan Sharath is supposed to call me today eve. Will let you guys know more soon.

Today Mr. Ivan Sharath has called in the morning. He said that today an engineer will come to replace the DVD Drive and will give a new OS CD. He told me to accept that. And then to show the error to the Engineer. He siad that if the issue wont get resolved, he will try to replace the Whole laptop.

The engineer came, Same person from last time. He ran the tests again. He found no error. But the issues were still there. I gave a call to Mr. Ivan Sharath. Who said to let go of the engineer and he will call me later.

Will let you know further as soon as I get the call.

After a few calls, they finally said that they will send a 9-Cell battery now and see.. If the observations are same as my 6-cell, then they will replace the laptop totally..

I said this would be final part replacement. Most probably I should receive the part tom/on Monday
