DT, Piratebay & torrentz are blocked on CRAPtel. It was opening till yesterday but since this morning they are blocked. Though Hotspot Shield can be used to get the access (that's what I use).

Trackers though are not blocked but only the sites & I am able to seed/download from DT.

Yep checked it wasn't working last week. But working through phone.

My line speed is perfectly fine, and speed test showed this.

What should I do. The client is picking all trackers fine, but there is a throttle (CAP happening). This is damn pissing off. Also, see the client is acquiring all trackers.

Can anyone point to a good link where Google Proxy or something can be put on the bittorent client. Will that beat the throttling.

Also, am not able to open DT anymore.

tried using protocol encryption in utorrent?
if nothing works, switch to tcp from utp. might work. probably,

try using vuze for dt. keep encryption on. and then observe for a day. Use a newly uploaded torrent with good amt of leechers.
i will not recommend utorrent beyond ver. 2.2.1

How do I make these changes. Today I spoke to my cable operator, and the World Phone Internet dude was there. He told me blatantly that we do not support Torrent. I did not know what to say. Anyways, I told him past 5 years I having been using torrent clients with no issue. So he took my IP, and said will look into it. Anyone know how to proxy the client or set up a VPN for torrenting.

For utorrent version 2.2.1
Enabling protocol encryption
In Utorrent -> Options -> Preferences -> Bittorrent section
Protocol Encryption - disabled, enabled, forced.
Use enabled to encrypt all outgoing data from your client. Use forced to make other clients send you data encrypted if they support it. disabled = no change, you will continue to receive data as is.

For tcp only connections,
Utorrent -> Options -> Preferences -> Advanced
Set bt.transp_disposition value as 29. The default is 31 which allows both tcp and utp connections from your client.
Setting it as 29 will make your client connect via tcp only, data will be shared via both tcp/utp.

i wouldn't recommend installing a proxy on your computer. it wont help in anyway. all it will do is forward the same connections from utorrent (without doing naything to it) to your isp who must be using a proxy on their side. A VPN connection needs to be bought from isp side. you cant do it from your side.

Dam! Looks like the Govt and private companies are all gone gung-ho with the Torrent blocking. Of all the ISP's, I never expected MTNL to be blocking sites.

The government really does not know what they are implementing or curbing. Most of the ministers at that level, have probably not even surfed the web.
