DFI's retail-grade pack of motherboards for socket LGA-1156 platform will be lead by the LANParty Dark P55-T3eH9. Dressed in black and orange, the P55-T3eH9 sports a fairly standard feature-set for the Intel P55 chipset. The CPU socket is powered by a 6+2 phase VRM, and is wired to four DDR3 DIMM slots for dual-channel memory. Expansion slots include three PCI-Express x16, depending on what's under the heatsink south of the CPU socket, the orange slots could be (dual x16 or x8). The black slot looks like PCI-E x4, wired to the PCH. Two PCI-E x1 and PCI slots make for the rest of the expansion.

Apart from all the features the P55 PCH provides, including six SATA II ports, an additional controllers add two SATA II, an eSATA and one IDE connector for two devices. Connectivity is care of one gigabit Ethernet controller, and a number of USB ports, including one mini-USB. A high-grade HD audio codec also provides digital audio connectivity through optical and coaxial SPDIF connectors. The LANParty Dark P55-T3eH9 is expected to be priced at 175€.

Local Pricing is tentative @ INR 15000

Launching on September 11th, will hit shelves soon after that.

The Mini-USB port is there so you can flash upgrade the BIOS from a second computer/notebook.

Very nice layout. Especially the big gap between the primary PCIe slot and the PCI slot - super for soundcard dudes like me.

Sudhir, who's the disti? Is it Tirupati?

^Yes. But not right away. Like most manufacturers, only the high/Mid-End boards are being released for now. The Mainstream series by DFI, the Blood Iron Series, will feature a P55 board which will be launched end of September.

^Lol. I knew u would say this :P I had actually talked to DFI abt this when we began :P Maybe that had an effect heh ? :)

^AFAIk , no JR or UT version is planned. From a DFI internal source, the other models (UT P55 T3eH10 and JR/DK P55 T3eH8) have been scrapped, coz they dont want to release so many boards. Instead, they will release a less number mostly, more rich with features, more VFM. A Blood Iron version is in the works as we speak.

^Same goes for all P55's. The chipsets are costing Intel that much itself :P I think i saw a thread about that on TE.

OT: Whats the point of i5 if the mobo+processor will cost as much as an i7 setup? :S

@TechHead - It will support i7 chips, but not the current ones. Intel has planned to release LGA1156 based i7's in November or so. This will support those.
