Preview of this board over at VR-Zone. Sure everyone's probably waiting for the Lanparty 975X but this board dosent appear to be too bad either ;)

Ive gotta say one of the best board layout's ive seen. No dearth of slots for anything and the placement of all the connectors is excellent. Abit, are you listening?

First time im hearing of a magnetically levitated fan though :S Can anyone shed any more info on this.

The first mobo maker to implement a digital PWM. Oskar Wu's pushing this, so it cant be bad can it :bleh:

Could you ask for any more :ohyeah:

The only thing i could find at fault was that the onboard audio was not up to the mark, just Realtek ALC 855. But hey, which person buying this board is gonna run on onboard audio. Oh wait noticed something else too, no eSATA2 ports, but i dont think thats too much of an issue.

a very good board for sure.....but whoever is buying an AM2 setup now is plain dumb!! :P

If you simply HAVE to have an AM2 setup, then yeah, this looks awesome....

Well magnetic leviation chipset fans are there on all Lanparty board... Really makes them run silent...

^^IMHO they are noisy :P and problematic. Good to see they are getting rid of the existing one. The best part though is the lack of caps around the cpu socket :D.

Sunon invented the MagLev technology for their fans. The one used on the DFI is a Sunon MagLev fan. Noise levels are definately low at high-RPM (when they are in good shape). However, me and other DFI users have had bad luck with these things after a while.. they become incredibly noisy, due to dust I guess. Havent taken the time to open it up and sort it out. Sunon also implement their Vapo bearing technology, which doesnt use oil etc - so not quite sure if a drop of oil might fix it as well?

The newer one looks exactly like the Evercool VC-RE which is a recommended substitute for the default chipset cooler on the DFI nF4 boards.

Here is a detailed image comparing MagLev fans vs the traditional fans:

Very simply put, there is a circular magnetic disk at the base which helps suspend/balance the rotor (i.e. levitate it).
