Whimsyshire is designed to be equal to that difficulty's Act3/4. Like NM Whimsy = NM Act3/4. This is according to Blizz. I have been only to the Normal one, it is fun, but the map is really small.

BTW, got my first Legendary drop today. It was a Witch Doctor Voodoo mask. :)

I am in the same boat as you, but with slightly more DPS and HP, but I am on level 54.. Anyway, I tried the caverns 10-12 tmes and didnt get that dude to come out of his hiding place...am really tred of doing the same stuff again and again. Also tried to get the plans, but that didnt drop as well...maybe I need to keep trying...dont know.

I guess my items were even lower :(

Blizzard should really make the RMAH/GAH available from outside the game. A web interface, or an Android/iOS app would be super. In today's world of cloud, I should be able to access my character and AH from anywhere.

At level 60 and inferno the game is a total different beast. I am not sure whether to laugh or cry when you encounter elites that wipe the whole group in seconds and you easily incur a 14k repair bill when you die like 3 times within 2 minutes.

All i know is that either you need to spend a few million gold in AH and get some decent items or you are pretty much stuck to farming Act 3/4 Hell for more items so that you can solo Inferno Act 1.

And on a side note, completed Act 1 inferno but that final Butcher boss was a pain! Died so many times and took so long that by the time we killed him we ran out of NV! Sigh.. We had to finally ask the DH in our team to quit as he was pretty much useless and would die in a single charge or hit from the butcher. Plus you have to work out the pattern on how the Butcher charges or hits as some of his 'power' hits can one shot a 40k barbarian at 55% hp!

Inferno is all about stacking high amounts of resistance to all elements.

They hotfixed the game last night such that low level Inferno items now have a slightly higher chance to drop in Hell Act-3/4.
Now you can farm Act-3/4 of Hell to gather low level Inferno items to better prepare for Inferno Act-1.

Nice change for players like me who are trying to progress using only what they find or don't want to spend a lot of gold.

^^ this is good change but think abt the repair cost which they bumped to 4x-6x damn u lose gold like hell just for repairs and you need to farm just for repairs..:bomb:

Didn't they adjust the repair cost to half of what it was in the latest patch? It's still high but I guess not as high. Can anyone playing high level Monk post what type of items to get?

I think they only reduced the durability loss from normal wear and tear like questing/hunting without dying. The price for repairs is still the same afaik, except you wont need to repair as often if you are not dying often.

Repair costs for durability loss upon death for ilvl-53+ items have been raised. If you're dying enough to incur huge repair bills, then that means you're not ready for the difficulty you're attempting to play.
You need to farm Hell Act-3/4 more for good ilvl-61/62 items and better prepare for Inferno Act-1.

DEX, Attack Speed, Crit Chance, Crit Damage and Life on Hit.

That is correct. Wear & tear repair costs have been significantly reduced, but repair costs for durability loss upon death have been raised high for ilvl-53+ items.

This is to prevent poorly geared players from attempting difficulties they shouldn't by employing sheer attrition to defeat Elites packs. It adds a real penalty to dying 10 times to kill 1 Elite pack hoping to bag high level loot.
Or it's an insidious scheme on Blizzard's part to create a gold sink in the economy and funnel players towards the RMAH :P.

as saumilsingh said DEX, Crit Chance (around 25% would be enough if you can get more obviously your welcomed), Crit Dmg and life on hit are very important and if you get good attack speed weapon say 1.40-1.60 then concentrate less on attack speed.
Since some skills (for extra effect) it requires crit to activate.

More specifically, there is no endgame.
D3's endgame consists of farming for millions of gold and buying what you want from the AH.

The itemhunt which is the main reason ARPG fans love the genre is unimaginative and unrewarding.
This means if you want good items, you will spend more time in the AH than playing the game itself. I think everyone can agree that's a huge flaw.

Too bad cause the core game is so well tuned and skills well balanced. They also have endgame bonuses in place like Nephalem Valor which were designed to reward farming for items.
But the poor itemization itself takes a dump on it all.

Made my Barb almost un-killable on Inferno Act-1 using only gear I farmed up. Now stuck on Act-2.
Started levelling up a Monk in the meantime.

Coop is fun, the DH I play with (not to be named :P) makes for some great comedic moments.
The Elites only want to chase him completely ignoring me, and he loves getting hugs from the Butcher .

hehe.. FRESH MEAT!!

Seriously though, since its patch-tuesday today, I decided to look up some strategies/guides on how to take on Butcher as a DH. Well, saw a few videos, still not confident I can take him. :( Meanwhile, I'll just continue with Act2 for now. But, I actually enjoyed Act1 Inferno (mainly because of the OP Bow) except for Butcher. I think I would rather enjoy farming in ACT1.

But yeah, the AH is a big part of the game. I have bought a lot of stuff on the AH till now, mostly for <2K per item. But all the really good Inferno items are ridiculously overpriced in millions.

Well, after farming Act 1 for a few days and selling items on the trade channel and the AH i went from around 350k to around 3 million in about 5 days. Even bought some items for cheap and sold them on AH again for profit! Lol.
Getting good items cheaply on AH is difficult but not impossible especially if you are willing to make some tradeoffs. And sometimes you can really score a superb deal like the amulet which i got for 300k which is easily like 2+ million otherwise. Items which are avail for buyout and just put for sale are the good ones to keep an eye out for as they will be snatched up immediately if seen by someone.

Anyway, upgraded my barbarian to about 17k damage with around 54k hp and thus was able to finish Act 2 Inferno. One thing though, the drops in Act 2 are much better than Act 1 but you cant proceed with the same pace and once in a while you encounter some idiotic elite combinations that you die to for a couple of times.

Gonna take a break now and farm Act 2 Belial for some good drops. I guess i need at least 25k damage in Act 3.

Almost reached end of ACT 3 now ( normal ). Finally found a weapon which can replace my dagger. I was using a dagger the whole of ACT 2 and start of ACT 3. Felt a little funny, being a barb and all.
