as far as i've seen... sony cams have pathetic performance.

slim ones from sony are strictly no no.

get hold of IXUS n u wont be disappointed.

+1 to warranty related post. it is useless as every manufacturer offers only 1yr warranty..which practically is useless.

for cards.

go for sandisk ultraII(60x) or extremeIII(133x) cards. (or any other sd card above 60x/9MBps)

dont settle for slower cards... anything above 5MBps card for 8+MP cam will result in noticable gap between 2pic.

burst mode will be practically useless.

n alot of delay will be there once the card is almost filled.

Warranty
Canon, Nikon, Olympus and Samsung offers 2 years while Sony and Panasonic 3 years and Kodak the lowest of one year IIRC.

+1 for the Canon IXUS & Sandisk ultra/extreme mem cards !

Yeah ,1yr warranty is pointless...
 
Sony warranty is 3 years. Canon is 2 years I believe.

Edot: Oh sorry. Did not see that janitha had already posted it.

I still did not understand. Only Kodak has a 1 year warranty. Fuji/Olympus have 2 years warranty. Canon also has 2 years and Sony & Panasonic have 3 year warranties.
