Oh..just to add what was written above..the S5 will also have the same DIGIC III processor ;)

+ to match the cool zoom of the S5 will require some expensive separate lens kits for the G7 and these kits dont come cheap. Why pay for options you can get at a cheaper price or for semi-pro options you wont ever use.

No offense intended siddharth :D Just dont think this guy needs a G7 anytime soon. Though it too is a cool camera in its own class (great Semi-DSLR types). Though i am too lazy to even look at so many settings ;)

;) yeah agree... I am a SLR user and lov playing with cameras. So ofcourse my point of view is truly diffrent.

For me camera/pic controls is more imp than feature rich... I mean u can do so much with those settings. A simple shot could be taken in so many diffrent ways with diffrent results. lol not to 4get photoshop ;)

If you don't use it then its simply waste. Its imp that before one jumps into pro or semi-pro cams they understand cameras.

If this is your 1st cam then G7 is little matured for you, what I can suggest is one step lower than G7. S5 does fit in perfect for you.

see...if you want more manual settings then you have to sacrifice size :P

Best IMO is still the S3IS... The S5 doesnt have as good reviews as the S3 did.

If you are willing to go for a smaller number of manual settings with small size then check out the other powershots like the 560IS and the 710IS, they have smaller zoom lenses compared to the S3 and S5. But they also have quite a number of manual settings which will be more than adequate for a beginner to play around with.

Go check out the S3 in a shop, its not that large also :D
If you feel it is too big for you, then check out the 560 or the 710.

Any models smaller than this wont have manual settings, you will be stuck with all auto point n shoot stuff.

Hope this helps.

but s3 has only 1gb movie recording limit :@ will the photo's look good when we print them i need a handycam/digitalcamera kinda camera and when i take the print the photo's should look good help plz

Firefox gone crazy!!! :@

Anyway, photos will be good no questions. Even the video quality is supposed to be very good. 60 Min should be quite enough for 1 file i think..... :hap5:

Photoshop? :P

Hehe..or maybe some good DSLR? :D

Dont worry about photo quality. The S3 is pretty good on that angle. Look at reviews anywhere on the net and you can see.
