Direct X 9.0C Vs Direct X 10.0

:@ I did a screen capture , 1024x768 Screen setting.

in Crysis , Recovery level , basically wanted to use a water based area for my comparisons.

Image 1 is with DX 9.0C

Image 2 is with DX 10.0

Now this is loaded on my XP 32 bit , I tried it with 64 bit some dam file did not work ..

Graphic Card is 9600 GT , Graphic setting all on High in DX 9.0C and in DX10.0

So the images are in identical settings.

Frankly I did not find much difference other than some improved shadows.

DX 10 will NOT work with XP. what you have dl'd is prolly a hack which simply forces your dxdiag to report that its dx10..

there are visible visual differences. do google for dx10 vs dx 9 IQ
 
I know , i need to prove to myself that this hacked version does not give the real picture. Its no different than 9.0C
 
believe me get hellgate london and you will see a much lotta difference between dx 9.0c and dx10

there are lot of effects in dx10 and it unplayable under dx10 where in dx 9 it churn out more then 50 fps
 
There is difference in stuff like shadows and mist, makes the experience more realistic. But this does mean a hit on the fps. If you ask me is it worth it, I would say yes. But of course you need a decent graphics card to pull it off.
