Disabling DNS Name Resolution

Namaste G ,

i wanna disable dns name resolution on mine winxp systems . Workgroup networking model is being used with Maunal IP Addressing being used ...

Systems connect to internet via NAT ( provided by ADSL router )

i had tried disabling DNSCLIENT nd DHCPCLIENT service but all in vain

Is that all possible nd if yes , how........ :ashamed:

you wont be able to use the internet properly if DNS service is disabled [until you want to restrict access severely]. Maybe you are confusing it with DHCP.

Just remove the dhcp server addresses from network adapter tcp/ip settings. If you are assigning ip from dhcp then changes need to be made on dhcp server to provide invalid dhcp addresses .
