Yeah, actually I did not want to make this thread, I went through the PM route and PM'ed Renegade after waiting for 2-3 days..He forwarded the message to the admins. And the replies I have been getting from the Mods have been supportive of the case, unlike many of the members here. Renegade himself suggested me to make a thread here, and as the admins were not replying to my PM I had no choice but to make this thread.

And its nice to see that some other members also find it unusual. :)

Dude, actually Im not putting allegations on anybody. I just wanted to know why the delay. If they are busy, and have some other work to do and have not been able to give time to TE since the past 8-9 days then that was what I wanted to know, just wanted to know the reason of the delay. Its not like I think they are paid and I can demand anything out of them and they should be here 24x7 and solve issues within minutes.

If a person registers here and after waiting for more than a week for the staff to activate his account, the person loses interest as has happened in this case. If there is some problem and time is required then the concerned people should know about this. I never expected them to activate his account in minutes after his registration, but IMHO 8 days is sufficient enough.

So? Im not demanding anything unreal, I just wanted to know the reason of the delay, period!

If I had got a reply from them explaining that it will take n number of days more because of xyz, all this would never have had happened as this is just a minor issue.

If I were my friend and I had been waiting for 8-9 days without any explanation as to why it is taking so much time, I would really have a bad impression about the forum. I really appreciate the work the staff of TE do, but there is always room for improvement.

Instead of this human approval process how abt invite only cause TE seems more like a private p2p site with this approval process...

Recommended TE to a friend.... she filled the form and got no response for a few days so she lost interest....I dont blame her....

Sorry about our failure to moderate users in due time. I am putting in place steps so that it does not happen in future. There are at present no members awaiting moderation.

Also just filling up the registration form is no guarantee that you will get approved. I have had people write in "I am Indian Idol" "Hello" "Khul Jaa Market Section". Goes without saying that they get deleted.

Err...this isn't their only work. They do have normal day jobs, like most other staff members here and DEVOTE their spare/free time to keep TE going.

Remember, this isn't a commercial enterprise, rather a community for and run by like mined people, with a genuine interest in the varied forms of technology.

So please do think twice before you post such statements.

P.S: As Safin pointed out, it is a tedious job of filtering out such membership applications, which consequently add to the delays in approval.

if one has to be given infraction, it is given in flash but when it comes to any genuine issue, mods & others suddenly get a stroke of morality.

no one here has chosen them as mods, they have chosen themselves, so please do not expect JUSTICE here, instead close this thread, this is going to get more worst & all those agents and / or managers (Respectful Designation) in between, please stop being partial.

He has started this thread for a REASON & what everyone here is giving him is EXCUSE(s)

Yeah, I acknowledge that and respect that, but still i could have got a reply on my PM stating those reasons and/or some other reasons.

I really do appreciate what you all do here.
 
Well, we can only forward such queries and concerns to the Admins and wait on their response.

In this case, we didn't know the exact status and therefore couldn't reply to your PMs.

It's good that you started this thread and have now received an official update from Safin (a.k.a Busy Admin), in this regard.
