My mother has asked for a dishwasher.. anyone here has any experience with the same ? any suggestions ? I am confused, have no experience with dish washers.

Have sold many of these from our electrical shop. Feedback has been really positive from customers who bought it 15+ years ago. advantage being they can be tucked into a modular kitchen. So can be used as BUILT-IN Dishwasher as well as Standalone dishwasher.

Do you have enough space for a standalone dishwasher? Better to get a full size instead of the table top smaller and cheaper ones going around. Smaller means manual labour on your part with more frequent loading and unloading and wear and tear as the machine is used more. That is the hidden cost with any undersized appliance with lower upfront cost.
Give yourself time before buying as you have a lot of learning to do. Maybe help her with the dishes will gain you that time

there is plenty space to keep the dishwasher. Mother wants the largest capacity available. i have seen 14-16 plates on amazon ranging from 30-60k. i find amazon reviews very misleading..

dfb424fp from LG. using since 2020 and it cleans flawlessly.. placed it under the kitchen countertop and added a door...

Good thing with LG is they make their own appliances unlike other brands that do not and rebrand from Midea that is the OEM. Pricier since they are imports but if you can swing it is your best option for decent midrange.
Only downside with this model is it has no resume after a power cut so it will restart the entire cycle. This is a uniquely Indian feature that is missing with imports.

I guess the unit is from Korea as far as i remember.
I run it on solar hence power cut doesn't matter.. And Yes it restart from beginning on a power cut

Guys how are IFB Dishwashers? Was considering LG too but its nearly 5k difference. LG is 14 place, IFB is 16place with additional rack on top for cutler which is very useful imo.

LG= quality is way better. using since covid, and their thinq app matches will with washing machine to notify you once done.
ifb electronics cant be matched with LD robust technology coming to washing machines, fridges and dishwashers.
ifb washing machine was a nightmare for me changing the pcb 3 times. where as lg working since like 15 years.
lg steam wash is really good. like ifb claims, auto door opening is useless. actually having the door closed in lg after the steam wash, if we leave it for 15-30 minutes all the water will settle on dishwasher walls and the utensils will be completely dry without a drop. also lg has 2 arms and one on the top as well

Is LG still the preferred option? Also, what is the difference between DFB424FP, DFB532FP and DFB512FP? The last two characters in the model code seem to indicate the colour. I tried the compare option on LG's website, but honestly, couldn't understand the difference.
Another thing is, which model is confirmed to have the auto resume feature post power cut?
Okay, so the DFB512xx doesn’t have the streaming feature. And DFB532xx seems to be the newer model based on the brochure (had a New label). Other than that I could only see a slight difference in weight and noise levels.
Since the steaming is definitely valuable, I guess it comes down to 424 vs 532. I’ll visit a store and assess the best offers. Will also check regarding the auto resume feature.
Anybody here who have recently purchased the LG units, would be great if you can share the price and offers available.

424FP is the model i have bought during covid. Imported unit, not sure if now made in India. There have been some feature cuts in the new model. And interior also some things are removed, check with salesman, like the foldable things for putting glasses,

I've been using a Toshiba dishwasher for the last 3 years, and it's been doing an awesome job.
We're a family of 2, using a 14 place dishwasher, so it takes us about 4 days to fill a load, and by then all the residue on the plates has hardened. But, after a hot wash (70 degrees Celsius) - which consumes about 2 units of power, and takes about 3 hours - everything comes out sparkling clean.
I called the service center once because the dishwasher kept throwing an error. The technician came over, to our home in Pune, the next day, and after examination it turns out that the error was due to no water in the mains. My building sorted that out, and we've had no problems since.
The only negative thing I can say about it, is that the installation technician asked us how come we'd changed our Midea dishwasher to a Toshiba. (We'd ordered a Midea from Amazon, and it, along with it's replacement came with dents in the body, and then Amazon cancelled the order, so we went to Vijay sales and bought the Toshiba.) He told us that they were both basically the same machine, serviced by the same people and we could have saved a bit by going with the Midea. I feel like I spent 10k more just for a better brand name - and maybe nicer racks.

I ended up ordering the Midea unit for 15.2k (NCEMI trick gave 2k off, will cancel the EMI by calling Axis Bank), and maybe another 5% cashback too using Axis Grab Deals. I guess for the price its worth it, hopefully will get delivered tomorrow.

Flipkart delivered the product earlier today as scheduled. Few hours after delivery, got the message from Midea with a reference number, I am hoping its the installation request. Hopefully this should get installed by tomorrow.
Compared to Amazon, the installation request seems automated in a better way in case of Flipkart. For my Amazon order for an LG Washing Maching, the automatic installation request got logged some 5 days after delivery. Luckily I had called LG customer care immediately after delivery and registered an installation request. If I had waited for Amazon to do it, it would have been delayed even further.

You got a great deal, but I'm pretty sure it's a good machine regardless of how much, or how little you paid for it.
I love your NCEMI trick, I've been guilty of using it on a few occasions too.
BTW, I'm using Fortune detergent, salt and rinse aid. Works as well as the tablets and more expensive brands.

How does NCEMI cancellation work?
I strongly urge everyone not to go with Cata. Their spares are costly and service sucks. I have a 5 burner hob with some minor ignition issues with 1 burner. The guy who came for the service wanted me to replace the whole ignition wiring. The actual repair that was required was to change the ignition switch. After the so called service I am now left with 3 working burners one less than before the service. When I called their South India service head, she says that the guy who came to service my hob was the only technician they had in Hyderabad.View attachment 185355View attachment 185356

Yeah its a good trick, especially when coupled with ICICI/Axis I think, where all fees are reversed. Even with HDFC, only a small amount is not reversed. SBI is the worse of the lot with a 3% + GST foreclosure fee.

Even if you have no intention of opting for EMI, you opt for the maximum possible tenure which offers no cost EMI. The interest component that would be charged is offered as an instant discount as compensation. Once the transaction is converted to EMI, you have to get the EMI cancelled by calling the bank's customer care. You get to keep the upfront discount that was offered.
ICICI/Axis is straight forward, and all charges (like EMI processing fee, GST) are reversed if cancelled within 15 days or so. In case of HDFC, you can do it from MyCards, and only the GST component is not reversed. SBI there is no option for cancellation and you have to foreclose by paying 3% + GST as foreclosure charges.
In this above case, the Rs 2003 discount is an extra discount which you will not be able to avail otherwise.
One thing to remember is that, if you do want to pay the amount in instalments, this trick wouldn't work as the upfront discount will just be compensating you for the interest that would get charged over the months.
