hello guys,

wanted 2 know the pros and cons of using a 32 inch FULL HD LCD TV as monitor....and using a FULL HD(size pl. u all suggest) monitor as TV.../??

what of the above would be a better option...??

GPU-GTX 275 or 4890.

main usage-gaming + tv viewing...

actually ma room isnt tat spacious...

so i want to use only 1 display.

i dont wanna keep a seprate LCD 4 gaming, and a seprate LCD 4 TV viewing...

and pl.suggest a gud tuner card also...

thank u!!

i dont think there are any 32inch full hd lcd tvs available...i guess they are half hd only...

for tv viewing full hd will b a bad experience as no tv connection gives output of such high res...full screen display will be pretty bad...

My uncle has got the 32in jazz and I had once connected his pc to the lcd.It will be good for gaming and movie watching but when it comes to web browsing and other text related work will give u a tough time.

He also has a benq e2200hd which is connected via tv tuner to airtel dth and I must say that the quality is damn good.

As ur main usage will be tv viewing and gaming then get the LG 32in Jazz.

Do keep in mind that u need to get a high end card to enjoy gaming in full hd.

there are lot's of TV in 32 inch that are supporting Full hd resolution. Now the question is whether purchase a monitor and use it as a tv or purchase a TV and use it as a monitor as well?

I think for a room whose length is less than 12fts a display of 24" is sufficient.

If you purchase a TV and use it as a monitor as well then:

Pros:
1. Only one devise to take care of while watching TV.

2. Will come with a dedicated remote (though some high end monitors may have the remote, and usefullness of TV remote is going down with the advent of STB's provided with DTH or cablewallaah).

3.No need to keep the pc on while watching TV ( less electricity Bill, though if u install external TV tuner box with monitor u can switch off PC ).

4. Most LCD are at least single tuner PIP, so TV and comp can work together.

Cons:
1. High initial cost. A 24" inch LCD TV will cost you a minimum of 19000/- and 22" will cost minimum 15000/-. TV with Advanced feature will cost much more. A very good 24" monitor will cost you 12-13k, and 22" will cost 9.5k. Add cost of TV tuner box @1500 apprx.

2. You get only 1 Year warranty with TV, no matter which company you go for. With monitors you get 3-5 years warranty.

3. You can get upto full hd resolutions in case of 22" monitors, not with 22"-26"LCD TV.

thanks a lot guys for your valuable suggestions.

betwn hav decided 2 buy a separe monitor...as h@cker pointed out tat i would be having tough time while surfin n doin other txt related wrk...
