Just installed the Evga 9600gt ko ed. card on my ASUS M2A MV motherboard and did a new install of Windows XP,graphic drivers used where Xtreme-G 174.16 32bit Xp.Everything is running fine but the display goes off and returns in a sec once every 3-5 mins, monitor which i am using is a Viewsonic 1930wm.What is the problem

Did you try reverting to the official nvidia drivers? Also try connecting the monitor to analog and see if problem persists. I do not know what the problem is myself, just trying to gauge things.

are you using the latest drivers....also double check the connections....

when it comes back does it post a message

R U using latest BIOS for UR mobo??

Is it UR first dedicated GPU? Set INIT DISPLAY FIRST to PCI Express in BIOS and Disable any shared memory if option is avl in BIOS.

Try Driver version 174.74, they r officially out now.

Also update UR mobo drivers, disable floppy controller in BIOS, maybe some IRQ confliction.

Windows is upto date? Give try to SP3 v3311

Try upping PCi-E freequency to 105MHz and see if problem still persists.

Check all cable connections and try VGA.

try everything outside PC case.

Which SMPS?? Check 12v @ load and IDle , use everest ultimate.

Try these and post.

Well changed the drivers to the one given along with the card but still the same prob

@ronnie the message i get is that of the monitor saying as digital at the top right corner

Probably the drivers didnt uninstall, from wat i know some drivers crash, stop responding and then windows tries to recover them, thats probably wats happening, try some way to clean those drivers, or possibly do a clean install again and then install latest official drivers. Generally drivers for new cards are a bit buggy..
Try vista also..

Only once ur SURE that its not the software, try other methods suggested..

OK the SMPS is ruled out tried my cousin's Corsair HX 620w still the problem persists,i think will have to do clean install again:@

Even did a clean install again but the problem is not rectified:@.The display works fine without the Nvidia drivers the moment it is installed the problem starts ,is there something wrong with the card

Ok updated the bios still no luck and i am using the latest drivers as shown in the Nvidia site(174.53),man this is driving me mad

Usually this only means one of two things, one is a loose cable and the other is a defective card (if you've ruled out drivers, IME it's not a driver issue).

Try the other port, it may be a DVI transmission failure on one port. Also check the TV output. Would advise you to anyway ask for a replacement.

Just FYI, I get this all the time on the onboard graphics on the 690G chipset on a friend's board at all resolutions, as well as on my 690G board on the 2560x1600 I need. Though the problem should theoretically disappear once you have a discrete card.

And since it's a clean XP install I'm assuming the ATI graphics drivers didn't install with the rest of the package - right? If you have any doubts wipe the ATI drivers and install everything afresh, unchecking the graphics drivers if prompted.

i have read about the evga oc'ed versions having some inherent hardware flaw in forums, try out your card in a friend's pc and check the evga forums.
also try downclocking the card to stock 9600gt settings and see if the issue still persists.

dude use some older driver which works stable instead of newer drivers. this might help same thing happened to me sometime back still using the catalyst 7.11 its all fine for me

Well i think the problem is with my DVI cable or the port on the monitor cause when i put the analog adapter and connect it with my monitor it works fine

I installed a Palit 9600GT, in a friends system, yesterday.

I had the same prob..."display drivers failed n ve recovered". On both Vista SP1 32 Enterprise n 64 Ultimate. Drivers were 174.16 n 174.53. They increased further with the optional driver patches through Windows Update :P

The solution was quite simple...underclock the core to 630, shader to 1630 n memory to 888, through Riva'08, till the new drivers appear :@

The performance didn't change much, after the underclocking...still got avg +35FPS on Crysis in DX10 HIGH n +25FPS in UltraHigh. And were not noticable in COD4, Assassin Creed, FFOW, MOH Airborne, UR3, etc.

Nvidia shuld release new drivers soon n U can get it back to stock or higher.

Hope it helps ;)

Hi has33 does the screen go blank and then recovers within a sec this is the problem which i am facing when connected to DVI port but when connected to analog port its working fine
