For last four months I was working on a Project at Office.
It was required by my office to get the attendance of all the staff and workers working at project site, and all their salary with site allowances etc. to be automatically generated every month.
We have searched a lot for any readymade device.. that can fulfill our job... but didn’t find one... So i was given the job to make A device and software which can help in Project Payment making.

So I made this.. as a Finger Print Salary system.
It is fully automatic.. Say as i plug Tata photon into it.. on site.. it sends data to our SQL server at office.. when finish it disconnect the internet... or when it comes in the Wi-Fi range of the office it again communicates with our server and automatically synchronize the data....

No keyboard or mouse is used or allowed to be plugged... no key pressing or any type of input command to transfer data to the server.
At SQL server end software calculates and prints all required payment slips...
Just want to share the device I made.
It’s Asus Netbook with Win7 Pro 32bit, and a finger print scanner inside an 8mm hard Acrylic Case, which made this device very rough and tough to be used at Project site..

Good job on the case! What Biometrics Reader you have used? And what the total costs of this?

Lastly, Any reason you haven't used a laptop which has inbuilt finger print reader, something like Thinkpad series?

Laptop with inbuild reader can only be used with the software or program they are bundled with... One cannot use them with their own Software.. inbuild reader are slow and inaccurate when linked with even ten finger print templets..

I am using DigitalPerson 4500 scanner and Custom self made software in Vb.net, can handle more then thousand templets and result is 100% correct every time i tested.

Reason to use Netbook , Atom process can fullfill all software computing needs, low in cost, small light weight and longer battery backpu.. 7+ hours always on tested... And worked for more the a week without charging while field testing..

Asus Netbook = 13000

Win7 Pro 32 bit = 5800

Finger print Scanner = 6800

Case making = 1800

Total = 27400...

No ready made product was able to solve our purpose...... Few portable rough and tough scanner were costly and need to be imported ..even then one have to mannually transfer and synchronize data at Sql Server so that it can be used for salary purpose..

We already have a Custom Inhouse Salary software up and running for many years.. so if we have used any readymade product we have to redo our running software... that would have cost a lot..

Very cool! I like it. innovative & judaad kind of stuff. I have seen your previous mods, I must say you have some really good ideas on building expensive stuff on a budget.

Nice..!! Our office does same job.

I mean we produce Biometric readers and softwares associated with it. But we don't have the facility to generate salary according to that.

Every office have their own Terms and Conditions about salaries… so everyone needs custom solution… and if one comes with minimum efforts then it’s good..i think so.

In my case salaries are to made for workers and other staff working at Project development site far away from main office (about 100+ km) with minimum cheating or fraud by site supervisor.., Even a non technical staff can handle my device.. , actually he has to do nothing just keep watch on the device so that no one can carry and run away with it…
