I has been long since i have felt the need for an good headphone amp. Finally made up my mind and decided on DIY. After much waiting for the required components , i have finally started the Embedded Hybrid Headphone Amplifier Project :clap:

hi ,

its a good great project ,I read the entire project and would like to ask you few details and also give a little advice .

Advice :

try and get the ecc series tube,They sound great

Some query :

  • What version are you making bjt or mosfet
  • did you get parts and components from outside india
  • if not did you design the pcb and arranged components

the design uses ECC86 series tubes and thats what i am using.

i am making both BJT and Mosfet versions .
Most of the parts/components are from outside india including the pcb's.

Do you have any source for these tubes, i am in need for more of these.

Keep us updated. Wish to try it someday :D I guess this will be able to drive almost any Orthos as well as Dynamics .
 
This is one of the best headphone amps in the world. :D

It is often spoken off in the same sentence as the Beta 22. :ohyeah:

Cavalli amps are extreme VFM. Since they are DIY amps the performance is generally better than commercial amps at the same price point. :)
 
Finally populated the pcb's.. after all the initial check up & powering up , connected the headphones...and there was sound:hap2:..my orthos and dynamic headphones have never sounded like this ever before..its an awesome amp:cheers:





its time to look for cabby and some final wiring...

Now find an awesome Alu brushed finished enclosure for this baby and you are set! :D

Just curious, but how much did the toroidal transformer set you back by?
