Hi guys
@The Mods
I am not too sure whether I have the permission to post this thread here. Let me know if you have any objections because I couldn't find any existing rules against it. You can delete this thread if you find it against the rules.
Now, coming to the point...
A globally sensitive issue which has been existing probably since time immemorial and which has probably gained empathy in recent years is euthanasia. Do I have the right to die? After all, it is my life. I am not hurting anybody!!!
If a person is genuinely in pain, be it physical or mental. Why should he not be allowed relief? Does he not have the right to live peacefully and die in as happy a state as possible?
I know that there may be parents who may not quite appreciate. But nobody asks his parents while marrying, not while deciding his job, not while doing pretty much any thing any longer. Then if the only way to escape unimaginable pain is death, then why not die peacefully? Everybody has to die one day. What difference would the time make?
The only organization which supports the cause for citizens of all countries of the globe is Dignitas in Switzerland and there euthanasia is considered legal for one and all be it due to depression alone or other serious problems or a mix of these.
Website: DIGNITAS - Home
They charge around USD 5200 for the same and have no personal gains whether you choose to live or die, maybe except some money. Out of 840 people who have been tried for death, not one has survived yet.
Isn't it selfish for a parent or friend to ask their loved one to go through immense pain only for the sake of being with them? Aren't they being selfish in doing so?
I would like to have people's opinions on this issue.
