do i "need" a soundcard ?

as you'll might b aware...
i got a zoom g2.1u guitar effects pedal recently ..
and i'm havin problems on setting it up with my PC..
i've installed the required audio driver and followed the instructions as per the manual ..
i'm powerin my zoom via an adapter and it's output is NOT connected to my amplifier.. i've connected my zoom.. to my PC usin the required usb cable
and yes.. i have changed the input/output devices in the control panel and in the cubase LE software tht i got with it..still im not able to get any output via my pc speakers..
i'm running on a Kobian PVM4 motherboard S)
am i doing something wrong or .. do i compulsarily need a separate sound card.. ?

Ok on a more serious note, does the USB cable need a 2.0 connectivity? your mobo may be 1.1 only

whn i connect my processor...it is detected as USB audio device...
i'm not sure whether its 1.1 or 2.0 :S

DC is not the solution for evry problem...also it looks like a USB/Mobo issue...

Did you tru using different USB ports? Sometimes, some combinations of devices and ports don't work.

yes i did try all the ports available.. whn i plug-in to a few ports, i'm not getting any popup in the systray showin new device..

I couldn't reply to you yesterday because I'm just not a fan of SMS... you need a sound card for better audio quality. The no-output issue with the Zoom is a different issue, has nothing to do with the onboard audio or audio drivers.

I haven't had the time to connect my G2 to a PC yet, but when I do, I will write down detailed steps so you can follow... I agree, the manual isn't very helpful at all.
