Unless of course you choose to use a USB 2 Ethernet adapter.

Video over usb c is a minefield. There is no standard. There is display port and hdmi based standards. Most generic docks will not work. Best to get a dock guaranteed by the laptop manufacturer as compatible

It isn't. It's the laptop OEMs and their propensity to make compromises that makes it appear like one.
Alt-DP over type C is well defined and comfortably handles 4K HDR or 4k 120
The problem is that a lot of entry and even mid tier laptops choose not to be compliant.

even a usb 2.0 adapter is rated for 500mbps, just get one from a decent company, getting atleast 100mbps aint an issue

Modern laptops have USB-C, so a USB-C to RJ45 LAN adapter should help.

yeah - the response was just on the quote on USB LAN adapters being slow.
While I wont use a USB adapter on a dedicated network device like a firewall, a USB3 adapter on a client yields pretty much full gigabit and sub 1 ms latency on wired

Yeah, I think the port selection varies by the range. Mine is the RTX 4050 and 13500H one from last year and the equivalent ones at that price range should have it.
