man you should have rather gone for 9800GT, I guess that was also for just a few 100 bucks more but the performance would have been far greater

I saw that one, Rs 6800, but for me heat is a factor, as well as not too much into gaming. Would rather take a 40 nm unit in a year or so so this is a stop gap, as my older 8600 GT died on me 2wice.
