Well to be honest GTS 250 is nothing more than a rebranded 9800GTX+ Nvidia has applied some minor tweaks and changed the layout a bit but that's it. does not worth the money now that 4850 sells for less than 9K. Of course, for sure we will know only when the card is reviewed after its launch in march first week.

BTW, Rahul I have to give you credit for putting this card for sale here so fast. It seems Palit is going all out to conquer Indian market. Not that I am complaining :ohyeah:

But I am wondering if outing the specs even before the card is released is allowed by Nvidia. This is a card that for now does not even exist according to Nvidia. :P

been using a alternately mx440/9600Pro/6600gt/a 3450 for the HTPC that was/and now running the G92.

Was just curious, as smoke does not come without something burning somewhere. Alsoif you can do it once (8800GT -> 9800GT) you can do it again. And remember nothing against the techies taking the efforts in R&D to bring out a new card, its against the marketeers. :P

Lol cant believe the green idiots, all the G92 variants are on average 10-20% faster then 9600GTon amid end system. But priced 2x times!!
 
palit 250 gts = nvidia 9800 gtx+ , so this cards performance is below the ati 4870 , so the price is pretty good , only worry is how much power is drawn.
 
That may not be such a problem...
nvidia always consumed less power..
only problem was that it required 2 6 pins atleast..
go hunting for molex adapters..
thankfully all equivalent ati ones need only 1 6pin..
but i definitely think that we should not jump to any conclusions abt the 250 before solid reviews come out..

Best thing is though 130$ card is 11k in India , 150$ card is 12.5k .... we are touching almost new $ multipliers now

$ goes from 49 to 52....distri multi goes from 70 to 80. More recession means less card sold leading to more profit per card. Jai Ho to Indian distris !!
 
Just some off topics, not meaning to crap the thread here. But the 4850 can be modded to out perform 9800GTX+, only softmodding can beat it out, all you need is an good bios like the Saphire, Asus, e.t.c and do some good cooling, The card will outperform this GTX 250. Sorry rahul not offending your thread. However the rev80 Palit 4850 or sonic would be the best deals offered by Rahul.
 
This card is slightly faster then a 9800GTX+ , and faster then 4850 (I am talking about 1gb versions). Since these are die shrinks, they should OC well too..

At 7.5-8.5k these would be good to buy..
