"Do you have XYZ Credit Card?" Thread

If you know that 1 Infinia RP = 1 rupis then you should've known the monthly bonus point capping too
1 RP = 1 Rupee doesn't hold true for the card holder. It's nice if you get those RP as a bonus after your own purchase. But if you are paying someone the equivalent amount out of your own pocket, the final deal comes out to a loss. When you book hotels or flights using Smartbuy, you always miss out on straight-up coupons/deals the sites like MMT or Cleartrip are running. I consider it a good bargain as I haven't paid for those RPs. But if those RPs were collected at 1:1 to rupee, I would rather book directly with rupee and find a better deal.

Yep i know that, just didn't want to type too much

As I've seen smartbuy flite prices are from aggregators like MMT or Cleartrip so the final price isn't too far away from booking through their own website

Also I don't use any HDFC CC because they twice they have delivered me trash card or trash limit or both

The final amount is similar, but the coupons are not eligible on Smartbuy. So you miss out on 1-2K per booking. The OP you replied to seems to think 1RP = Rs1 is simple math. But in reality, I would not count it more than 1RP = Rs 0.5.

After Magnus devaluation, I think Infinia retains the crown. If you do banking with HDFC, it would be worth a try to talk to your RM. HDFC are stingiest with their top cards, but I hope that reflects into less devaluation compared to other top cards.

Denied my father Infinia even though meeting income criteria and holding 2 accounts - one sal and one SA for over 12 years

****ing gatekeepers
Even DCB is not worth it compared to Vistara cards out in the market

Tough luck, mate. I have a DCB, I haven't tried upgrading as I don't meet their criteria yet.

Which Vistara card do you think is better than DCB LTF? I am thinking my expenses are not that much to get a paid card yet. I manage to get 30-40K RPs in a year with DCB.

So I guess you have an LTF DCB under alumni offer?
I mean I'm living the ideal ecosystem around me - every purchase i do do is done via CC (whether offline or online)

Like even when i go and buy ciggys i buy it with my CC because the (grocery) shop which i go to accepts CC as payment mode so I give him good volume of sale (accounting both of my flatmates too)
Best thing which helped me reach my Magnus monthly milestone was rent (60k a month)

I don't mind holding paid (super) premium cards as I can extract value out of it
I hold Axus Vistara Infinite (10K+GST), Magnus (10K+GST), SBI Vistara Prime (3K+GST)

I don't travel too often (averaging 1 flite a month domestically) but still have miles/points oriented CCs or rather make purchases/spends using those

No, I don't fall under alumni offer. I have my salary account with HDFC for 12 years and going. Had Regalia LTF for 3 years and they first offered a paid upgrade to DCB, to which I declined. Six months later, they had some quota to fill, so they offered it LTF and I took it. I've had it since the days of 10X RP on Amazon. It's been devalued a lot but still a good card to have as it gets 3.3% almost everywhere. The 5% cards are always with some limitations and so if I am not sure it will get that 5%, I default to DCB.

I don't have rent to pay, so my expenses are limited to online shopping and groceries. DCB points have been paying 70% of my flight fares for more than 5-6 years. Most rewarding card I've owned.

With these paid cards (referring to payment of annual fees) there are benefits too
SBI Vistara Prime - 1 premium eco flite tix
Axus Vistara Infinite - 1 business class flite tix + CV Gold which grants you business class lounge access even if you are flying Vistara Eco both dom and intl (biggest highlight)
Magnus - Book my show 1+1 upto 500, 10k Yatra or TataCliq voucher and one time 50% off (upto 3K) EazyDiner coupon

If you see points its just plain number. If you see value of reward points, its 825. So, I am sure those reward points are indirect rupees, meaning 1Rp=1Re while booking flights/hotels through Infinia card.
No , for Infinia or Diner Black conversion is 1 RP = 0.3Rs
Its only if flight , train , hotel booking then you can use your 1RP = 1 Rs

Then somebody tell me how is 1000 RP on buying of 6000/ Amazon GV equal to 1000 bucks
I sincerely want to know so that i can also xxx bucks on purchase of Amazon GV

Note - Once in a year or 2 years HDFC comes with option of conversion ratio 1 RP=0.75Rs

What is the approx total of spend in a year & what type of categories mostly spend is on? If around 3-4 lakhs per year & mostly on ecomm/utilities then amex MRCC can be a decent option.
Over 15L

He doesn't like to hold multiple cards
Already holding Plat Travel
Doesn't like to do mental gymnastics for rp farming
Mostly hotels, flites and resturants

Then I think amex platinum travel will do just fine as it can be used to get good travel related vouchers. Maybe he can take a look at getting IDFC Wealth credit card or Standard Chartered Ultimate card. Preferably, getting HDFC Infinia would be better but that option is not available as per your previous posts I think.

IDFC Wealth has a weak reward rate would rather go with the Vistara one
SC Ult makes sense as it's a totally no nonsense CC but redemption options aren't that strong
And finally yes Infinia is the only one which makes sense

Thinking of Atlas as it's a traveller's oriented card but then again Axis
