Do You Like Xbox 360's New Advertisement ?

Hi Guyz ,

I am sure by Now Most of us Have seen the First ever advertisement of the Xbox 360 Featuring Akshay Kumar and Yuvraj singh ! I Felt The advertisement was absolutely Horrible , Throughout the whole ad , I was unable to understand exactly what were they Endorsing...... a Next Gen Gaming console or a New Mental Hospital in Agra ! Infact it was not until the Last scene that I came to Know that it was actually an ad for the x360 ! I would Have done a Much Better Job, Had i been the ad-maker ! :| Hopefully there next advertisement will be Much Better and actually make some sense !
 
Yup ...I agree cud have been much better...starts off well with ppl skateboarding and stuff but makes no sense thereafter...at first look thought the guys were endorsing some shades...lol
 
^^Yeah and People who r not very much Familiar with Gaming would not even Know What Xbox 360 Really is ! Isn't that a Shame ? :|
 
Lol..... Yeah Thats wat I mean , They Finally Got Great Stars to Endorse their Brand but they ended up making such a Meaningless Ad ! Not to Forget the ad is Very Irritating and it Has Gotten on to my Nerves Now ,so whenever it turns up on TV I Just simply change the Channel ! :| Now Thats not very Good for X360, is it ?
 
I for one found the ad rather interesting!

dunno how many here have seen the original xbox ad (the one in which a lady gives birth to a child)

It was even more creative so to say...

anyway, whether one like such an ad or not is the matter of very subjective opinion and I found the ad kinda refreshing!

After all, it did catch your attention ..didn't it?

and all said & done, the 360 ad is primarily meant to attract attention which it succeeds in...doesn't it?

and this product does not need any additional attentin from people like you & I...it needs to pull in people who perhaps have no, or very little clue about what the 360 is, and thats where it gets full points!

Thats exacly Where it Fails ! Just Tell me if I was unable to Tell what the Guyz were actually endorsing till the end of the ad , How the Hell r average people who have absolutely no Knowledge of Gaming supposed to Know thats its actually a Gaming console ! The ad was Not even slightly related to Gaming ! They should Have Put some Trailers of the Game Instead and it would Have been much More Interesting ! People will only appreciate it when they actually see what a Next Gen console is capable of !

I also saw a USA/JAPAN ad of XBOX360 which is actually BANNED.

But, still, it was COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO0L.

In it, in a shopping mall, when every one saw the poster of XBOX360

people start KILLING, KICKING, SLASHING and even RUNNING OVER by pool cars like it is a NASSCAR/MONSTER TRACK.......

D-Uh...

The idea of the ad is to attract attention of people who will (and can) actually buy the system and original games....

Once they have caught their attention (basically given them a question in their head...whoa..WTF is that?) it's a matter of minutes till the target customer figures out from the net or elsewhere what the 360 is!

Don't forget that they are not trying to target the hard core teen or barely-out-of-teens gamer here who already knows about the 360 and as been eagerly awaiting its arrival...Ad or no-ad not withstanding! :P

It would have been a retarded move to show trailers of games :rofl: Pray tell me what reason would it serve? :rofl:
 
Gotta agree with you bluff..the ad was distasteful...even worse than the dumb reynolds pen or those other gel pen ads.Though I must say the 'Porok' ad was innovative.

I could advertise for the 360 by showing the x360 symbol on my underwear :rofl: and showing my butt in front of the camera :P .

But why pick akshay kumar as the brand ambassador..I mean does he know to game in the first place cause he was asked a question in the 360 launch party...I know john abraham and shahrukh are gamers since I saw john playing the ps2 on channel V during his breaks in one of the movie sets and shahrukh buys game consoles for his son after he tests them.Here's the part of the interview I saw...

Nikhil-So tell me akshay why you and xbox?
Akshay-Cause I am a gamer and no one is a better gamer than me :rofl:

Nikhil-So tell us wht are your favorite games on the xbox?

Akshay-My favorite games are Fifa and Halo(he can't even pronounce this word..he said it as hallo like how you say hello but with an 'a' instead of the 'e' in it" :rofl: .

On seeing tht interview made me realise tht I needed a shotgun and the instant ability to teleport so I can shoot him right there.
 
^lol. But I doubt if even John Abraham or Shah Rukh are better gamers than Akshay. Just because they play ps2 doesn't mean anything, Akshay spending his time on Halo is just as good. But I read Shah Rukh was instead planning on getting the Ps3 for himself (and son).

They could've added at least a 10 second video towards the end hiting the quality of games it would play.

ya, but that unfortunately would not gel in with the rest of the storyline of the ad ...
 
I seriously doubt akshay played halo since there was another video where a gamer had asked him who his favorite character is..and he replied tht it was obvious..his favourite character is the hero :rofl: ...OMFG!! If he did play it then he would have known the character's name since it would often be mentioned in the game and also the guy can't even pronounce Halo...yeesh,remember ppl this is the actor who defeated undertaker in one of his khiladi movies :rofl: :rofl: .

Yeesh...just saw that ad on youtube....Some may like it for sure, but I found the Indian ad way too cool in comparison!
