Do you think Modi can bring change if given chance?

Don't go over opinion, just check the no. of years of each ruling party.
Congress in around 50 years of ruling has fair amount of riots/year, while with BJP riots/year is astoundingly high.

So, Now we have come to an agreement that Congress has created more riots in India. Thus, i have to go with BJP as i cannot vote for communal riots creating party like congress.

What? The BJP and RSS have done more harm through communal disharmony than Congress.

If you are using communal tendencies as the ONLY yardstick, then choosing BJP over Congress would be extremely irrational. BJP thrives on communalism, whereas Congress needn't be communal to be in power. They are selectively communal under the pretext of being secular, same as most other national parties.

Congress are riot-creating specialists, not to forget their caste division politics, not going to support such communal, casteist party. Congress has slavishly followed the Britishers model of "divide and rule" to rule this country for decades.

So every one is going to vote on basis of a party is communal or Pseudo-secular?
No one is interested on other real issues which have arisen due to bad governance of our current Govt.:(

We are getting what we deserve, nothing is going change in future.

The thing is that, i honestly dont think that the common man has a problem with the ouster of congress and with bjp in power.
The problem lies in bjp's choice of pm candidate.

Whilst i havent followed the entire thread, are you guys saying that the bjp doesnt have an alternate candidate to Modi? Whilst that seems to be the case at the moment, that really is my problem with modi being the pm of India. Modi seems to have a very autocratic way of governance, he seems to talk more abt the wrongs of what others have done than what right can he really do. He almost seems to neglect the fact that whilst Gujarat has had a huge success @ industrial development, the people out there are still piss poor.
Also what troubles me about this guy is his arrogance and complete lack of respect for others. That is not and shouldnt be the way our so called best bet for a PM should behave. The names calling and insulting remarks about others, aka opposition party leaders is very disturbing.

I would vote for AAP, but they didnt field a single candidate in the recent Karnataka elections. I dont know if they will field one in the national elections. Leaving that aside, I am never going to vote for Congress again in my life. They are the most responsible for the current state of our country. Every time I see something on the food security bill and Narega, my blood boils. People like us, who form 2-3% of the population have now been relegated to feed, educate and pay others who bother to do no work. Instead of spending the money on improving infra for agriculture, which in my opinion is almost non existant in India, they come up with something as stupid as the FSB, which when implemented will show most people how to drown an economy, while at the same time making politicians and middle men rich. The same money spent on agri infra would provide food, income and work for decades to come. So now a commoner in the village says that I will be paid for 100 days in a year anyway. I will get food anyway and my children will go to school anyway. SO why bother working at all....kills the whole ethos of life.

Congress has made the most number of laws to pander to the minority, SC, ST etc. Why do you need to have reservations in PG courses and other professional courses, even for doctors or pilots. I agree reservation needs to be there for some minorities and backward classes. But this reservation needs to stop after say the 4th or 5th standard and let everyone then go ahead on their own merit. Instead of this simple system, we have convulated system, which gives reservations till death to certain categories, thus assuring them of a job, food etc., while even a deserving person may end up frustrated because of lack of opportunities.

What the Congress has done in all of this is make sure that people are divided on the bases of caste and creed and make sure that they make laws pander to them. All vote bank politics, which happily does nothing for the growth of the country. If some of you figured out how this has lead to a whole lot of imbeciles who hold your life in their hands on a daily basis, then maybe some of you would wake up.

At the current rate, the economic death of the country is not far away, if we continue to play for vote banks rather than the growth of the country.

^ Vote bank politics is one of the primary reasons why India is still a "developing" nation even after 66 years of Independence and will remain so for the next god-knows-till-when year.

There is no decent party in India to vote for. At the end of the day, every party is the same.. corrupt and with self interest at the top of their priorities. People are grossly deluded if they really think that anything would change if BJP comes to power.

The same sort of things are going to repeat and by maybe set new lows in how bad governance can be. By the time their term ends, the people would be so disappointed and fed up that they will bring congress back again. Then congress will set new lows again and people would be fed up. they will cheer for BJP again.

As for AAP, its the worst of the lot. A party whose primary leaders are self deluded enough to think they are fighting corruption while being corrupt, greedy and devoid of any moral standards and self conscience can be considered to be one of the most dangerous. If they ever come into power, they would destroy the country irreparably more than Congress or BJP ever will. I hope they never have a chance of getting into power.

It's a sad state of affairs in our country. Both parties are corrupt, with their own agendas. Anyone with a little bit of sense would agree that Congress is the worse of the two. They have been slowly and steadily been eating India from the inside for the past 10 years. On the surface, we have grandiose schemes like the Food Security Bill which are not realistic and will put a huge strain on the economy. The worst part of this is they rely mainly on dynasty politics. They have been using the Gandhi name for decades and this should stop now. Prince Gandhi is simply not built for politics. Over the years, his political gimmicks and outbursts have caused more embarrassment and shame, rather than any good to anyone.

BJP on the other hand, has been riding the wave of the recent highlighted failures of Congress with aplomb. I am not sure at all whether they will even deliver 10% of what was promised but I know that they will be under a great deal of pressure to perform if they get elected, as compared to Congress, who will take their 3rd term win as being invincible. That's the worst case scenario.

Right now, I am so happy with yesterday's ruling to revoke both the bill and ordinance. Both parties are now under the scanner to remove their dirty politicians. Understandably, SP leaders are unhappy with the decision. I'm sure that they have the highest ratio of convicted to non-convicted politicians in their party.

@blkrb0t - From your posts, I can see that you strongly feel that Hindus are the majority in India and other communities are languishing far behind. Being an agnostic theist myself, I have little care for the religion of a person I interact with. But, I would like to tell you that the Congress party also strongly agrees with you. All top posts in the country ranging from defence to administration, in most departments today, are headed by a people of a "minority" community. And this should not matter if the people have been selected on merit. However, if you examine it carefully, most of them are not. Congress plays the most dirty kind of votebank politics.

Just vote for any other party. Incumbent is most worried about not staying in office. The fallacy is to think there is a better party. Well, if you have ideological reasons, fine. But changing parties means putting the pressure on all to perform if they hope to stay in power.

no problems with this. so long as there is regular regime change, when there is less fear f being thrown out of office then why bother to do anything.

I don't know about irrepairable damage by AAP, but if you want to freeze everything then AAP would be best way. The withchunts that will come out will shut down govt quickly. Slow decisions even further. This will slow the economy down.

Yeah. Judging from some of your other posts, you see like one of those hired drones that post "Vote NaMo" on ToI, FP, ET etc.
o_O
let me know what ever i posted is different from whatever has actually happened.
i am posting my opinion, you post yours.
dont be a judge:banghead:. nobody asked you to be one.

Everyone who is saying that AAP cant from Govt at Centre, my vote will be wasted, why should I vote for him etc etc.
AK is the only person to say about introduction of one more button, Right to Reject in EVM machines.........we all know at booths, our votes are used up if we didn't showed up(Talking of most general polling booths).
Don't be part of dirty politics, but still AAP deserves fair chance.
Kai baar Congress ko diya, kai baar BJP..........why we r reluctant to shell out 1 vote AAP......huh !!
