If you are serious, select a topic, do research(preferably in area you like) and start. Quality unique content = $$$
 
Yes, even I am interested in finding this out. I don't know why people are so apprehensive and reluctant to disclose their earning. Just tell us the earnings. Don't even give us the name of your blog/website.

I am starting a website and would like to know how much people earn so that I could compare my earnings and know where I stand.

Can we get by blogging on any site or are their specific sites as such where they pay you for your content....:huh:
 
first to start of with get google adsense on your blog. After that proceed to various ad networks depending on the category of your blog and sell them ad places.

I think TE should also do that now. Could give the top banner placement
 
my adsense request was rejected since my blog is not unique :(

need to blog atleast every alternate day though :P
