Normally when we connect the usb c cable from pc to phone, only the default charging mode is activated. Then we need to pull down the notification tray to change it to data transfer mode if we need to copy anything off the phone. I'm not exactly sure but I think this started from Android 14. My pixel phone asks for fingerprint/password every time I try to enable or disable data transfer mode to the phone. I think both Google and Apple are going to great lengths to protect people's privacy. Does your Android phone ask you for fingerprint or password too in data transfer mode?
